A TASTE OF HISTORY📜🍴💯: Auburn Junior High School held its annual Black History Month Café today, creating a meaningful opportunity to celebrate culture, history, and community. • 🥘Teachers and administrators collaborated to host a potluck-style luncheon featuring a variety of Southern delicacies, including cornbread, collard greens, pimento cheese grits, and other traditional favorites. The shared meal provided a warm, welcoming space for fellowship as faculty and staff gathered during their lunch breaks. • 🖼️The celebration extended beyond the table. Students contributed thoughtfully designed artwork highlighting influential Black figures who have shaped American culture, leadership, science, the arts, athletics, and civil rights. These works of art lined the café's walls, turning the space into both a gallery and a gathering place. • 🎉The Black History Month Café not only honored the rich contributions and lasting impact of Black Americans but also strengthened unity within the AJHS community. Events like this serve as a reminder of the importance of reflection, appreciation, and coming together to celebrate the diverse stories that help shape our shared history.

ROBOTICS🤖🏆: This past weekend, Auburn City Schools robotics teams from J.F. Drake Middle School, East Samford School, and Auburn Junior High School showcased their skills at the Auburn Robotics Club VEX IQ Robotics Competition! • ACS teams made an impressive showing, with 10 of the 20 finalists representing their schools. The competition was intense, but the teams displayed exceptional teamwork and strategy. Their hard work paid off as they won both the Tournament Champions Award and the Robot Skills Award! CONGRATULATIONS🍎🎉: Joshua Wine has been named the Teacher of the Year at Auburn Junior High School! • Mr. Wine is currently the Director of Bands and Chair of the Fine Arts Department at AJHS, where he conducts and oversees three concert bands, a percussion methods class, a jazz band, and the musicology club, in addition to teaching music appreciation to hundreds of students. • “We are very excited for Mr. Wine as he is a great representative of Auburn Junior High School and Auburn City Schools. His passion for music education is evident in and out of the classroom, and he has a talent for engaging and pushing his students to excel in their musical endeavors.
