I found it deeply unsettling that Mike Dilger was promoting ecotourism in one breath & in the other acknowledging how intact the rainforest is. They don't work together. Why can't we leave that forest alone- for wildlife to flourish?

This is not a 'tirade', but is deadly serious! Water Voles are now close to extinction and one of daily causes is dog disturbance. They are creating a landscape of fear for them. Water Voles should be ubiquitous with several Plops! heard, as they dive into the water ahead of you!

A very nice day in the fabulous private Los Huemules reserve nr Chalten in Argentina, set up to protect the Andean deer or Huemule. I didn't see one sadly or even a Torrent Duck but hear they are doing well- essentially stable at their carrying capacity. More great scenery...
