Im sitting back at the airport about to return to the US but wife is contemplating us moving back here. We live near Boston and the shear cost difference means we can save so much more money here all the while living better. 2 trips to the hospital for me cost me only $120 total with no insurance for instance. We could eat out daily and have healthier meals AND still have spent less on food than at home cooking.

We came to Japan with 3 full suitcases, 2 were for us and 1 was full of gifts for family and friends. Going home we now have 4 suitcases lol wtf.

22 years ago upon arriving to iwakuni, Miyajima Island is the first place I went. We decided to take a side trip ove here just for the nostalgia of it. Its a holiday weekend and the crowds are insane. Nothing like I remember.

Im at Izumo Taisha, the meeting place for all gods in Japan. They meet once per year but you can come here to pray to all of them at once regardless. Very beautiful cultural heritage spot even if you dont follow the japanese traditions.

Found an anime about camping, Futari Solo Camp, and I love it. Saw them going to a camp store so wanted to see what a japanese camp store was like. Looked up the store in the show, @WILD1outdoor, they have a store in fukuoka so went and bought a bunch of stuff. Conversion rate makes it so much cheaper, now to get it back to the US lol.

After spending a couple days back in Kokura (小倉) were kn the road again tomorrow, this time to Shimane, specifically Izumo Oyashiro. Japanese lore lesson, this place is where all the japanese gods meet once a year to discuss the state of things and make decisions, very big ceremony, but thays in November I believe. Also got my beard done up at a place here in preparation to go to the temple lol
