I interrupt my regular search/AI programming to share this view from a paramotor flight in Iceland last year. Flying into this area for the first time gave me this deep visceral sense of joy and happiness - just from being able to see and explore this landscape.

@DanteReminick Public education needs to be unbundled into distinct services. Homeschooling parents could do with a stipend and technology grants. Edutech products could finally break free from district-oriented sales cycles and go full B2C like Brilliant.org.

@RichardSocher @marc_krenn @_youdotcom_ I think one of the areas of improvement for Google Images and Videos has always been traceability. The same image is found in many places, perhaps with small modifications. A better Images might display clusters of highly-similar results, with a source list.

@RichardSocher @marc_krenn @_youdotcom_ The value-adding formatting for SO, GH is interesting. How does it adapt to new platforms / "publishers"? Harder to discern hierarchy with the grid of tiles than a top-down list. Tiles works for images, but I'm not sure it will stand the test of time for text.

I have great sympathy for @RichardSocher, he seems to be a super nice and smart guy, but the UX of @_youdotcom_ is just … FUBAR. I'm sorry. Like, I don't even know where to start.

Where's the best site where I can create a (mostly text) book, have some control over the graphic design, and get copies printed well on decent paper and shipped to me? I know there are places for photo books, but what's the best option for text?

@SimonAnholt @protajack My thinking: Median Personal Wealth contributes to World Order. E.g. reduces Refugees Generated, controls Birth Rate. But I suppose its effect is indirect, and you're measuring the direct "exports" of a country, rather than its internal infrastructure.

@AugmentSoftware @protajack Eric, the GCI measures how much countries contribute to the rest of the world beyond their own borders. I don't see that people's wealth is relevant to this but maybe I'm missing your point?

I have a hunch that optimizing for GDP growth is the wrong metric, and that we should be focused on some question like “is the median individual becoming wealthier?”
