@HitTheByline Any fan putting serious clout behind being the ‘third biggest’ is absolute small time mentality . If hearts, hibs, Aberdeen etc were finishing 3rd year on year and competing with the duopoly consistently then it’s up for debate.

As a neutral on the matter, Aberdeen are the 3rd biggest side in Scotland and I don't think that this should be a debate, but that never stops Boyd and Sutton from doing so anyways. In terms of domestic trophies, it is close 🏆: - Aberdeen; 4 league titles, 8 Scottish Cups and 6 League Cups. - Hearts; 4 league titles, 8 Scottish Cups and 4 League Cups. However, Aberdeen are the only Scottish side to win 2 European titles, the European Cup Winners' Cup and the European Super Cup in 1983, both under Sir Alex Ferguson. Aberdeen are also the only other team, besides Celtic to never have been relegated from the Scottish top flight. Also, as a side note, Hearts have won 1 major trophy and Aberdeen have won 2 major trophies in the last 15 years. So, it's not the best rebuttal by Kris Boyd...

@CoachDougieA Shankland has to be the first choice striker based on the season he is having and last season aswell .Would love Hardie to get a shout at the friendlies and see how he fares .I’ve been watching him for Argyle this season.He’s Outscoring the other three choices in the same league

I actually think Shankland is in pole position as he's been in recent squads and is the best finisher in the squad. Clarke seems to like Brown but I can't see him being a gamechanger in Germany and spots are limited. If Hardie is selected for the March friendlies, he has a chance

Lastly, due to fbref statistics being incomplete for the SPFL, I couldn't include Lawrence Shankland in this thread. He has 22 goals in 34 apps in all competitions for club and country this season.
