@dsimstudios @LeekDuck We found four was ok with a max mushroom and the recommended Pokemon on your team (charizard, metagross, cinderace). I’d given mine level 2 attack moves before starting. It helped.

@Yogaerwin @LeekDuck Seems to be only four trainers per raid - as soon as the fourth person joins the lobby locks and the 15 sec countdown starts.

@aliciaandrz I don’t know how you feel about supplements but chromium picolinate, magnesium and zinc can be good to help reduce sugar cravings.

my sugar intake has ramped up since I got sober & this year & I’m trying to tackle it. I’ve started eating greek yogurt instead of ice cream in the evenings & on the one hand I definitely feel better & more virtuous but on the other what’s the point of living now?

@SNeurotypicals Yes! And when I’m looking after myself properly my body will yell at me about what it wants to eat (like “hot chunks of meat protein now!” or “all the carbs please 🙏🏻”) which is so interesting to experience.

you need to be slowmaxxing. you need to be reading long, fat books. you need to be making 48-hour chocolate chip cookies. you need to spend hours watching wildlife, you need to spend 15+ min making your coffee. you need to breathe in and breathe out. you need to be slowwwwwwwwwww.

@alioop326 But in terms of cooking them? Make sure the fat in the muffin cups is spittingly hot before you add the batter.

@alioop326 I’ve only ever had them as a savoury item as part of the main roast dinner. They are amazing with gravy!

@DataSciNews @visakanv 100%. We probably read to our kid 1.5-2 hours a day from infancy (not as like, a metric, just we all really liked reading as a form of play/interaction) and now we have an 11 yr old who is a voracious reader.

@visakanv Read to them an absurd amount of books. And have them see you read an absurd amount of books. Books are a "thing" that dad/mom do and something that is enjoyable. Chewing on them or carrying them in a stroller / buggy is always great too

what are the best stats to pump on a baby’s skill tree in the early game? I think Wave Hand is OP, because they can then use it in public at strangers and this has like a 30-50% Charm bonus which leads to more interactions which is more XP

@fesshole My upper primary kid had homework this year to make an instructional videos about using the washing machine, and cooking a basic meal. You can’t teach what you don’t know, so the whole class had to learn how to do laundry and cook! Thanks teachers from a busy parent! ❤️

One of the subjects I teach in high school is cooking. These days I find I need to include a lesson teaching students how to wash up properly & the importance of doing so. They also get homework to wash up at home. Many parents have thanked me.

@jzellis One thing I love about Bragg’s lyrical style is the way he uses a negative to illustrate a realization, like “when no-one came to collect our fares, I knew then that this was something special” (Walk Away Renee) or “when at last it didn’t ring I knew it wasn’t you” (New England)

Talking to my mate John about Billy Bragg, who is one of the greatest lyricists the Anglophone world has ever produced, and how art and politics are difficult bedfellows, always. But Bragg is very good at it, and even his non-political songs like "St. Swithin's Day" are genius.

@jzellis This is my favourite track by him and I think it contains a single line that sums up all his concerns, his literary world view. “She was married before she was even entitled to vote” 💔

Most Americans only know him, if they do, because of the records he did with Wilco covering unreleased Woody Guthrie tunes. And that's a shame, because he's at least as good a songwriter as Guthrie was. Just listen to "Levi Stubbs' Tears". youtu.be/PhmCKkRae7o?si…
