I didn’t like USAID. But watching people gleefully mock a woman for having to start over at ~60 is bleak. You can disagree with someone’s politics without losing basic empathy. The internet has broken a lot of brains.

Francis Fukuyama is a fucking genius and a prophet.

They’ve done significant statistical work on this. Basically the working class and the entrepreneurial class produce everything of value while there’s a huge parasitic managerial class that produces nothing. If we removed them we’d return to a premodern social structure of a large population of producers with a small leadership class

It’s wild how just a couple decades ago we were told we were on the brink of post-religious America. As Obama telegraphed, there was supposed to be just a few people left clinging to their religion, and the country would soon move on from them in their rural outposts. And yet here we are. Massive debates within Christianity taking place, showing how relevant doctrine is in ordinary life. New media focusing heavily on religion with apologist podcasts exploding, and even those who are not known for being religious unabashedly taking a strong interest in the words of Jesus now. Even democratic candidates are having to try to sell their Christian bona fides to voters. There’s a ripe harvest out there. x.com/pastorjgkell/s…

Most of the structural problems young people are angry about (affordability, inflation, employment, housing) were profoundly worsened under Biden. Historically so. So while the Trump admin’s policies (deportations etc.) have led to multiple months of decreasing rents as just one example, they’re still above pre-COVID levels. New H-1Bs are down 90% but Americans are still competing against millions of foreigners who are already here. Affordability and housing are the result of decades of mass migration, mass money printing, and mass regulation. I’m the first to say I would love for our side to focus like a laser beam on domestic issues that unlock the American Dream for the next generation, but the deeper truth is that many young people are deeply cynical about politics and for some very valid reasons, and they’ll take out their frustration on whoever is currently in office. We are in a race against the clock to put up big, bold, audacious wins to demonstrate our side can deliver for the next generation. It’s Mamdani vs MAGA. We must deliver so the civilizational arsonist, DSA Borg don’t burn it all down.

The DOJ's indictment of the Southern Poverty Law Center is a chilling attack on civil rights advocacy. "Trump's DOJ has been weaponized by dangerous forces. Every organization and individual engaged in social justice should be alarmed. What we are seeing in real time is an administration seeking to leverage its position to target individuals and organizations that do not agree with its political thought." — NAACP President and CEO @DerrickNAACP Stand with us. We're urging every advocate to speak out and encouraging every voter to make their voices heard loud and clear in November during the midterm elections. naacp.org/articles/weapo…

The filibuster is used to excuse failure in the Senate—“we can’t get to 60, so we can’t do what we promised we’d do when we were campaigning” There haven’t been 60 Republicans in the Senate since 1911 It’s time to restore the talking filibuster or nuke the zombie filibuster
