@AusSportMatters @7RugbyLeague Been playing incredibly well since round one. Walsh 19 errors in 7 games. By this logic Stephen Crichton is in form as well.
English

"There's something that doesn't add up... no way is it form only!"
Is there more to Reece Walsh's omission than meets the eye?! 👀
📺 THE AGENDA SETTERS: RUGBY LEAGUE Mon 7:30PM ON 7Mate | #NRL

@NRLSCC @7RugbyLeague Imagine showing someone who’s never watched footy before the 2025 finals series and then trying to justify that Walsh isn’t in the best 20 players for the state.
Miss me
English

@AusSportMatters @7RugbyLeague You can’t be serious. A lot has changed since October. He’s not been close to that form this season. Ponga has been far better.
English

@NRLSCC @7RugbyLeague Pretty small sample size to be making that call on btw - given both have missed time with injuries.
The moronic part is that Slater could have just picked both in the 17. Not that hard.
English

@NRLSCC @7RugbyLeague “Walsh battling for form” is a comical line.
7 NRL games ago he was the unanimous Kangaroos fullback, Dally M winner and had strung together 8 of the best weeks of rugby league you’ll ever see from a fullback.
English

@7RugbyLeague Agree 100% Walsh should be in the side somewhere but for Luke to say Ponga hasn’t been setting things alight is not true. He’s been outstanding in every game he’s played this season. Walsh battling for form but he’s class.
English

@AusSportMatters The fact he was $488k as well doesn’t help. There is a case for Twal to play origin. I think he’s a better chance than JFord.

👨🏻⚖️ The Verdict - Round 9
Firstly this week’s highlights 🔦
🐯 Alex Twal on Thursday night with an enormous base and what possibly his first try assist since under 12’s. Outstanding to see. Origin?
🦈 Blayke Brailey reminding everyone on Friday night why he’s the number one hooker in the game against the Cowboys’ weekly optional defence.
🐎 The absolute junk of a lifetime for Xavier Willison on the bell to turn a solid 70-odd into a demoralising ton for non-buyers (WTF is going on with the Dogs?)
🐉 Turns out maybe the Dragons actually did like Shane Flanagan… but they are just absolute trash. An all-time hiding at the hands of the red hot Roosters. Pick your poison, they all got fed SuperCoach-wise. (How good is Seth Tu going‼️).
🇳🇿 Jackson Ford just keeps repaying the faith. Keeps tonning up, keeps playing big minutes. Doubt he’ll play origin, he should be firmly on everyone’s SC radar after next week’s bye. For the Dolphins, the Trai Fuller and Jamayne Isaako combination looked outstanding.
⛈️ And for the Melbourne Storm… we witnessed the most embarrassing night of Craig Bellamy’s life (weak). Belted by Souths, with Tallis Duncan bagging a welcome hat-trick.
🐈⬛ Another dominant Penrith Panthers win. Another Nathan Cleary ton. Rare form. Edwards owners kissed 😘
And the disappointment of the week?
❌ The Manly Sea Eagles. Their halves have no idea how to use Tolutau Koula, and Koula looked like he had no interest in forcing the issue. My slam dunk of the week (yes, I captained) went down in flames. Brutal watch. Foz will need to find a way to use him far more effectively in a near impossible task vs the All-time Panthers or they will be humbled.
Here’s this week’s verdict for anyone still listening 😁👇🧵

English

@AusSportMatters Option A for season. Option B for strong bye planning. Comparing apples and oranges a little bit. How are your bye numbers looking?
English

@SulloReport Helps when their income is tax free and they’re getting flown around in a Jet
I guarantee you they’ll have multiple games in Sydney / QLD where they have a charter flight back to their resort straight after the game
Perth, is going to have 6ft6 players sitting in economy class
English

Perth signings
- bunch of English internationals
- steady veterans
- young fringe first graders
PNG signings 6 months before they’re allowed to speak to 99% of available players
- all time leading try scorer
- 4 time premiership winning half

BREAKING: Jarome Luai will head to the PNG Chiefs and become the face of the new franchise. Luai has taken up his option to remain at the Tigers for the 2027 season before moving to Port Moresby in 2028. A major get for Willie Peters and their PNG Chiefs. 📝 @brentread_7

📉 Most Traded Out
🚑 Payne Haas/Tom Trbojevic/David Fifita - Sell due to injury.
🐶 Jacob Kiraz
I’d want to confirm timelines here but if he’s out for more than a couple of weeks, I’d be looking to move him on for a high upside CTW. Those spots are crucial and he just hasn’t looked healthy. Even when he scored a try he’s in that 60pt range. Not enough. Work rate has dipped.
Verdict: Sell if more than a week out
🥛 Noah Martin
This one’s insane to me. I would not be selling. Cannot recommend it. Unless he somehow gets benched again, you’ve got an 80-minute edge who can jag a try, has serious speed for his size, and benefits from Hudson Young out with suspension and Origin. Great buy cover, strong run ahead and should get multiple starts through the origin period. Just looks a great asset you play as required.
Verdict: Hold
🏝️ Keano Kini
On the bye and has apparently picked up a knock. Not a must sell, not a must hold. Around a -15 BE and comes back to a nice day game against the Raiders at home though. If you’ve held this far, I’d be tempted to hold one more week and bank the extra 60–80k unless you really need the slot.
Verdict: Hold if possible
⛈️ Joe Chan
Definitely sellable. Just looks like he’s contracted an illness of some kind. Even in 80-mind, the work rate is there but the explosiveness isn’t. Could turn around this week with a big Anzac clash, but right now he looks flat. Draw is pretty decent, but form is the concern.
Verdict: Sell-able if required

👨🏻⚖️ The Verdict | ANZAC Round
Well, I’ll be f#%$ed - the 🐉 finally sacked Flanagan plural…
RD7 - a week of haves & have nots. I hope you had.
If not, never fear - ANZAC footy’s here. Love the beer & atmosphere & yeah I’ll shut up🧵👇

@AusSportMatters Early nuff is fine. Dual FRF. There’s a case to hold/sell all of them except Brailey. Makes sense to me that one of the origin players go. Which one would you lean to? I’m thinking Pat or Stefano..
English

🦅 H. Olakau’atu | 2RF | $676,800
✅ Try-scoring back rower
😤 Point to prove
🛟 New lease on life
📈 Elite run of match-ups
🚫 Unlikely for Origin
🗓️ One bye between now & RD22
📊 23 runs in RD5 (only 26 total RD1-4)
👑 Pedigree
💎 3% owned
One game into Kieran Foran’s coaching tenure and Olakau’atu looks like a new man, as do the Sea Eagles across the squad. Despite the narratives, that’s not a coincidence. The team clearly lacked motivation and care factor was lacking, but coming off a big win over a quality Dolphins side, confidence should be sky high heading into favourable matchups against the Dragons, Cowboys and Eels.
Perfect opportunity for Manly to put distance between themselves and the spoon. So the motivation should be there, and when Haumole is motivated and healthy, he’s one of the best 2RF options in SuperCoach.
Based on that, I’m backing him to lift his effort and work rate to another level. If Manly are competing and winning, he’s a SuperCoach king, simple as that. He’s already averaging 81.5ppg across four games, with attacking stats baked in as you expect with him. Gun profile - highly skilled, big body, focal point in attack with limited matchup advantages elsewhere outside of Turbo and Koula.
At just 3% owned, he’s a genuine POD in a stacked position. And per @UpsideSC data, he’s got an elite three week window to cash in.
Not a must buy, but will be suitable for those looking to upgrade at 2RF

English

@AusSportMatters Option B minus the Chan trade. Don’t think it’s worth a boost. Chan has upside too, I think it’s sideways-ish.
English

@AusSportMatters Don’t think we can Mr Mac. Nice little draw leading into origin period and a Storm bounce back required.
English

Kai Pearce-Paul, Haumole Olakau’atu, Dylan Lucas, Hudson Young, Kulikefu Finefeuiaki. 80 minute edges with big power stats & attacking upside. This is the 2RF mould for 2026, don’t upgrade to any other type of 2RF!

English

@AusSportMatters Probably Sasagi would be first cab for me. Then in a fortnight definitely Mark with a one up, one down cash cow trade. Makasini should be $400k by then. By then we’ll know how Kiraz is going or if we need a punt like Tuaupiki, Dom Young, Tamale etc as well.
