Did you know that Dr Hussam Abu Afiya, the heroic doctor who stayed until the last moment in his bombed out hospital saving lives, and who the Israeli army abducted illegally, is STILL kept in chains? Now, Israel seeks to extend his illegal detention. Speak out!

🇺🇸🪖Congress Moves to Extend U.S. Military Protections to Americans Fighting in the IDF Legislation introduced in Congress would extend U.S. military legal protections to American citizens serving in the IDF — a proposal with no precedent for any other foreign military, Military(dot)com reports. H.R. 8445, introduced by Reps. Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA) and Max Miller (R-OH), would grant Americans serving in the IDF the same job protections and financial relief, including: 1. SCRA (Servicemembers Civil Relief Act) — limits interest rates on debts, protects against eviction, foreclosure, and certain legal proceedings while serving. 2. USERRA (Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act) — guarantees you can return to your civilian job after service and protects you from being fired or discriminated against because of your military service. No comparable bill exists for Americans serving in any other foreign force. The IDF has been found by Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, and the United Nations Commission of Inquiry to have carried out genocide in Gaza. Critics argue the bill breaks a foundational principle: that U.S. military protections are earned through service to the United States.

Let this sink in: Congress is about to extend US veterans’ benefits to Americans who served in the ISRAELI military and partook in the genocide in Gaza... military.com/feature/2026/0…

Nothing feels more on brand for Uranus transiting into Gemini than the President of the United States holding a press conference after an alleged shooting at the Correspondents Dinner. A deeply narcissist Gemini born during an eclipse with his popularity in the pits

Adam Cochran (adamscochran.eth)
It strikes me as worrying that: 1) Iran talks fall apart again 2) Trump is looking for a reason to re-engage 3) He called Americans home from Pakistan including the advance team 4) He attends the correspondence dinner *for the first time* 5) Immediately there is an alleged shots fired incident with a dead shooter. If this develops into a claim that the shooter had *anything* to do with Iran, I’d be deeply skeptical and concerned that this is a false flag.

While journalists inside the White House Correspondents’ Dinner celebrated with the powerful, we brought them the face of Lebanese journalist Amal Khalil and asked a simple question: why are you silent while your colleagues are being killed? From Gaza to Lebanon to Iran, reporters are being killed by Israel, civilians are under bombardment. History will remember who spoke up and who partied with war criminals.

Orcas have brain structures you don't have. Neurobiologist Lori Marino's MRI work on killer whales identified a fourth cortical segment called the paralimbic lobe. It sits next to the limbic system and handles emotion and social awareness. It doesn't exist in humans or in any land mammal. In orcas, it's so elaborated it erupts into the cortex. Their cortical limbic lobe, the region handling self-awareness and social processing, is exceptionally developed. Their brain weighs roughly 12 pounds, four times the mass of yours. They have spindle cells, the same neurons that let humans reason about other minds. When an orca surfaces and locks eyes with you, it's running a social assessment with neural hardware specialized for exactly that. It knows you're a separate being. It knows you're watching it back. It's evaluating you. Here's what should recontextualize the clip. In all of recorded history, wild orcas have killed zero humans. Zero documented fatalities. One surfer was bitten off California in 1972, and the orca released him the moment it realized he wasn't a sea lion. A 12-year-old was bumped in Alaska in 2005. The orca approached, touched him, turned back. Orcas hunt great white sharks. They coordinate wave attacks that sweep seals off ice floes. They take down moose swimming between islands. They have every capability to kill you. They have never chosen to. Marino's explanation: the orca neocortex is developed enough to instantly distinguish a human from prey. Other researchers point to orca culture, the traditions passed through pods across generations, in which humans simply aren't food. That look is recognition and restraint. From a mind built for social cognition at a scale your brain can't reach.

Something about Orcas watching you is deeply unsettling.

The web is disappearing 🕳️ According to a Pew Research Center report, 26% of pages from 2013-2023 are no longer accessible. But that’s not the whole story. In a new study published in Internet Archive's book, VANISHING CULTURE, data scientists working with the Wayback Machine have found: 16% have been restored through the Wayback Machine. 56% are preserved before they disappear. Rep. Mike Levin
Rep. Mike Levin@RepMikeLevin·
This should be on the front page of every newspaper in America. A Syrian billionaire needed U.S. sanctions lifted so he could cash in on $12 billion in reconstruction contracts. In an attempt to influence American foreign policy, he proposed a Trump-branded golf course, cut Jared Kushner & Ivanka Trump into a multibillion-dollar real estate deal for a resort in Albania, and had someone physically deliver a stone engraved with the Trump family crest to a Republican Member of Congress with instructions to take it to the White House to get the President's attention. Trump threw his weight behind repealing the sanctions. They were lifted. The contracts are moving, the Trump family’s deals are expanding, and not a single Washington Republican is willing to say a word about any of it. This is a corruption of everything the office of the presidency is supposed to stand for, and the American people deserve to know about it. nytimes.com/2026/04/19/us/…

🏥 An emergency physician with Doctors Without Borders working in Lebanon is warning that the toll of Israel’s war extends far beyond the immediate death count. Dr. Thienminh Dinh, speaking to Pod Save the World, described treating a young woman whose both legs were blown off while walking with a friend. She survived the initial injuries — but when Dr. Dinh visited her days later in the ICU, her kidneys were failing from the extent of the muscle destruction. She also described a migrant woman injured in one of the very first strikes who remains hospitalized months later — paralyzed after bleeding into her brain stem and spine, her home destroyed, the people who would have cared for her killed in the same strike. Beyond the acute trauma cases, Dr. Dinh described a healthcare system in total collapse. Patients who couldn’t reach hospitals during the war, whose doctors were displaced, or whose conditions went undetected as clinics shut down to redirect all resources to emergency care. She recounted diagnosing a pregnant woman whose baby had died in utero — a complication that, in a functioning system, would have been caught and treated in time. “Beyond the acute injuries,” Dr. Dinh said, “we’re looking at a generation left with lifelong disabilities.” Source: Pod Save The World
