It's the 1972 tour of England, and the Australians are about to record a commercial. Can you identify these gentlemen? #CricketTwitter #Cricket

Updates for 5th Ashes Test for Australia: - Usman Khawaja all set to play his final game for Australia at the SCG. - Boland might be given a rest if required. If that is the case Neser will be retained and one of Webster/ Inglis is to be picked. - Murphy to be included in the final test in place of Jhye Richardson. - Cameron Green,Marnus Labuschagne to play. - One of Webster/Inglis will play the final test. - Very high possibility of the SCG being a washout due to rains. Expect a flat pitch to be dished out. - Weatherald could be shown the door if he fails in the final test.

@arbazahsan17 Please read the balance sheet of Cricket Australia before making such comments. There's a reason why Ch9 pulled out of cricket coverage, because Test matches were draining their finances.

They do not make losses, Aus expect a certain revenue from tests and short tests means less revenue which is reported as a loss but isn't actually a loss. Ashes in Aus is 2nd biggest money making event in cricket behind IPL

@arbazahsan17 In Australia, Test matches make losses. The only country where Test matches make profit is in England. That's the economic reality.

Why hasn't Cricket Australia insured against the loss of revenue from a Test match, unlike what ECB has done in the UK? Two similar countries / cultures, similar insurance landscapes, similar underwriting & risk assessment set up. What gives? #Ashes #Auspol2025

@footyindustryAU Jeff Kennett was very worried about cricket's image in this country, after the sandpaper saga. History repeats itself.

With losses mounting, Cricket Australia is trying to sell the BBL franchises to the business owners. Their demand: during Boxing-day & New Year period, BBL games should have all the Test players. That demand could end the Boxing-day & New-year Tests at MCG & SCG. #Ashes2025

Cricket Australia made $30m losses in 2023-24. Despite a bumper India visit, they still made a $11m loss in 2024-25. With 2 poor pitches at Optus & MCG in 2025-26, it's a straight $13m loss. If Test cricket in Australia can't make money, will they cull it? #Ashes2025

Genevieve(A caller) on ABC Radio: 'They have to burn the stumps and bails from the MCG and put it in an urn and call it the 'Death of Test Cricket'. These sort of pitches will expedite the demise of Test Cricket. A lot of angry fan voices on ABC Radio this morning. #Ashes2025

Stuart Broad said on air this morning, 'Given the amount of grass, the bowlers just need to bowl the wobble seam, hit the pitch hard at the right length. They shouldn't try to swing the ball'. Will wobble seam make the conventional swing a dying art? #Ashes2025

Unbelievable that ppl on cricket twitter are unwilling to acknowledge that this was a terrible pitch at MCG.Test match ending in two days and not one batter scoring 50 is not just bad technique.

If a 2-day Test finish happens at other venues, fans have options. They can go to beaches (Sydney/Cape Town), vineyards(Adelaide) or historic places (London). What can the fans do in boring Melbourne, @BigKev67 ? Learn Hook turn? Please help the Barmies from England. #Ashes

These people shouldn't have a job tomorrow, given the 2-day diabolical farce they have dished out to the Cricket world, on this MCG pitch. Ross Hepburn. Nick Cummins. Matt Page (MCG Curator). This is embarrassing for Australian cricket. CA owes the fans an apology. #Ashes2025
