@pritipatel I'm a British citizen, you took away my freedom of movement. I did not vote for that - I want it back.

The immigration system in our country is not fit for purpose. As I said in the interview, I was not happy about the high numbers while the Conservatives were in government. Our party is now under new leadership and it is important we learn from our mistakes and how we can do things better. As a former Home Secretary, I have seen no interest whatsoever from any other political parties in understanding the system or learning these lessons. I'm pleased the Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Home Secretary have said they will develop a new plan on how to control immigration, including a hard cap on visas. This is what is needed. More words will not solve the problem.

Last Sunday's morning mist gave an atmospheric air to Jim Four's photo downriver from Greenwich Yacht Club, past the Cemex mooring point towards the Thames Barrier. He used a Nikon800. New members are very welcome to attend our Tuesday Club Nights.

So incredibly excited to see Bob on the last day of his stint at the Albert Hall! (Assuming also last concert of 2024) Man those tickets went quickly, even with the priority access as a Friend of the Albert Hall… Who else is going? 14/11?

Here we see @RachelReevesMP freelancing beyond her manifesto already on EU issues. The Labour manifesto says nothing about aligning chemicals rules - indeed they are a key component of the single market they claim they do not want to rejoin. It's a silly argument even in its own terms. Except for free movement, people didn't vote against any single subset of single market rules - they voted against having the rules set in Brussels. Labour seem to be quite happy with that.
George Parker@GeorgeWParker

New - @RachelReevesMP calls for closer EU trading relations in @FT interview, inc more alignment with EU rules: “I don’t think anyone voted Leave because they were not happy that chemicals regulations were the same across Europe." With @Sam1Fleming ft.com/content/d0a1f7…

@AnalogueWLand Tempted to say my Chamonix 5x4 field camera, the palaver of LF slows me down and requires you to really think about an image, so I can make fewer but better photos.

@scottwarmuth1 vacant lot, iron, wind, wicked... At the very least, the page has Señor echoes; There’s a wicked wind still blowin’ on that upper deck There’s an iron cross still hanging down from around her neck There’s a marchin’ band still playin’ in that vacant lot

Who knows what meanings we have yet to discover? Well, I’ve got a big backlog of them that I’ve yet to present publicly. My current challenge (for those so inclined), now in its 2nd year, is to find the hidden April Fool’s Day reference on p. 162 in Chronicles. It’s a crafty one.

@scottwarmuth1 @markusrill @harryhew @allisonrapp22 @darlenejw55 Yes, the plagiarism label completely ignores the multiple layers of meaning embedded in Dylan's work (often decipherable only to the cognoscenti with deep intertextual or historical knowledge). Who knows what meanings we have yet to discover?

@HamishGill I did the same recently, had just a battered F body and found a nice battered plain prism - made no economic sense but I’m happy to have done it

3 years ago y'day I gave a talk at the Troubadour in London. At that point people were just saying "Remember not to touch your face". Home 3-4 days later it seemed completely mad to have had 100 people crowded together in that small basement room: the pandemic was full on.

@JamesRavilious @beaford Another example of his masterful technique to get the background enough out of focus for the printer to stand out yet it be clear what he is standing amongst.

@HamishGill Am following a similar path - I recently rescued an 645xxx F body by getting a replacement back, a dented plain prism and an early battered 3.5cm plus equally tired 105mm. The body is scratched with "Old 11-11-63" underneath. Thanks to @LondiniumCamera for giving them new life.

@ILFORDPhoto @HamishGill This is true for me, I spend my working days on a laptop and smartphone - the pleasure of analogue cameras and the darkroom is a welcome change from this.

Here's a question, #believeinfilm friends. I'm looking to do radical multiple exposures (in the 30-40 exposure range), and none of my cameras except toy cameras let me do that. Can you recommend an affordable camera that would allow that ?

@JamesRavilious @beaford I can just imagine him strolling past, seeing the bicycle, thinking someone’s going to come out of the door soon, waiting patiently and then just nailing the timing. Lovely.
