It is generally accepted that fat tissues “talk” to the brain via secreted hormones. Our amazing student @yuwang, co-mentored by @liye_tsri, discovered that somatosensory neurons innervating adipose tissue act as a break to counteract sympathetic activity. nature.com/articles/s4158…

How about an entire course in high school called “Data,” in addition to math? All students learn how to accurately interpret data (polls, health & diet claims, etc) they’ll encounter in social media/news/life. They gain the ability to spot hyperbole & recognize manipulation.
