It's really telling that when agribusiness groups like @mn_agrigrowth attack their critics, they resort to calling them "anti-agriculture." No one's anti-agriculture -- we all have to/like to eat! Also, lol at calling someone a "non-mainstream" activist.

@rrpre @EOckerman For me with food supply chains, concentrated one become expense and fragile -- and they also let you engage in more exploitive behavior that is easier to hide (see Dricsoll's). They also make meh tasting food as that food is engineered for durability, not taste.

@rrpre @EOckerman I'm hesitant to pull too much from NYC, since it's an island city and essentially a city-state. That said, if the debates is on lower prices, then this really isn't a supply chain question - it's about subsidies. America has chosen to subsidized ethanol but not produce.

Last month @EOckerman and I hosted the second edition of the Supply Chain Book Club featuring a dynamic group of capitalists, communists, and centrists. We greatly enjoyed Barons by @AustinFrerick. Next month we will discuss mining.
