How is getting $8 billion from State coffers and $2.3 billion from deferring pension payments bringing a budget down to zero?
The same NYC taxpayers that pay the bulk of NYC taxes are paying the $8 billion of state taxes that are funding the budget gap.
This budget ‘fix’ is robbing Peter to pay Paul and it didn’t work out well for either of them.

How to "balance the budget" the commie way:
-Get a multi-billion bailout from NY taxpayers
-Restructure and defer pension payments for a decade, stick future taxpayers with the bill
-Raise fees for critical services like ambulance transport
-Increase city permit fees, license fees
-Impose as many "fees" as possible on the taxpayers
-Do anything but actually cut your city's bloated spending
This is not "taxing the rich." This is bleeding you dry and calling it "fiscal responsibility."

A few FACTS about Mayor Mamdani’s so-called “balanced budget” for NYC:
• The city’s historic deficit was covered largely by a massive state bailout from Albany, funded by ALL New York taxpayers across the state, not just city residents.
• He restructured and extended pension payments to 2037, deferring billions in costs and saddling future taxpayers with the bill.
• He raised fees for critical services: ambulance rides, plus new charges for EMS treatment even if no hospital transport. He also ramped up enforcement on parking tickets, bus lane violations, and other fines.
• Increased revenue from the city’s permit fees, licenses, and other user fees.
• Implemented over $1.2 billion in cuts from housing voucher programs and the Department of Education.
He’s not “taxing the rich” rather…. HE’S TAXING EVERYTHING YOU DO!

Congratulations on kicking the can down the road. The Mayor’s deficit closing relies primarily on a huge bailout from Albany ($8b over 2 years) and delayed payments like pension costs which just get stretched farther into the future
