I’ve come to know the Director of the National Economic Council, Dr. Kevin Hassett, really well over the last three years while here in DC as Ambassador. I could think of no better and more engaged guest to round out our Australian Super Summit in DC this year. All important to boost the two way investment relationship.

@AustralianSuper Thanks for the reply. I fully understand having a diverse portfolio but I want better ethical standards. My point was that propping up jobs in Trump’s America right now is not in Australia’s best interests. This investment was being heralded as great for American jobs. Not happy.

Hi There, AustralianSuper will always be strongly committed to investing in the Australian economy. In fact, by 2030, we forecast our investments in Australia could grow to exceed A$260 billion, which is equivalent to around 9% of Australia’s forecasted GDP. As a large and active investor, we have more than $170 billion invested domestically. This includes more than $30 billion invested in Australian real assets - like Sydney and Perth airports and NSW Ports - key infrastructure that plays an important role in the everyday lives of members. Our investments also support great businesses, with a long history of enabling quality Australian companies to grow. Even as we grow our international investments, we expect to continue making a substantial, positive impact on Australian businesses, infrastructure and the economy in the future. As one of the largest pension funds in the world, investing overseas allows us to expand our investible universe and reduce the Fund’s portfolio concentration risk in Australia. Thanks, Sarah

Hi there, we understand changes in your balance can feel unsettling. There are a number of factors that affect the balance of your super, including which investment option(s) you're invested in, the performance of each underlying asset class, relevant currency exposures within those asset classes, transactions in your account, among other factors. The returns of the PreMixed options reflect the returns of the underlying asset classes that are held in the portfolios, which include Australian shares, international shares, private equity, unlisted property, unlisted infrastructure, credit, fixed interest and cash. It's important to compare investment option performance to the appropriate benchmark, based on similar characteristics and investment exposures, and consider that foreign currency exposure can affect the performance of foreign investments. You can view the asset allocation breakdowns of each PreMixed option here - australiansuper.com/investments/yo… Benchmarks and performance comparisons are also available at - australiansuper.com/why-choose-us/… If you would like to discuss specifics related to your account and balance, we'd recommend speaking to a financial adviser – ausup.me/adviser Thanks, Sarah

Hi Terri, we understand changes in your balance can feel unsettling. Market ups and downs are a normal part of investing and volatility is more noticeable in the short term. That’s why it’s important to look beyond the short term. If you make decisions based solely on short-term considerations, you could end up worse off in the long run. This includes activities like switching investment options, which can have a significant impact on how much super you’ll have when you retire. As a long-term investor, we review and adjust the portfolio in response to the changing economic and market outlook and actively seek out opportunities to deliver value for members. If you have specific questions about your financial needs or goals, consider speaking to a financial adviser – ausup.me/adviser If you're not satisfied with our products or services, we have a complaint resolution process to address your concerns fairly and efficiently. If you would like to begin this process, you can make a complaint using our complaints webpage - australiansuper.com/help-and-suppo… or by emailing your full name and member number to socialmedia@australiansuper.com quoting #20242 in the subject line. Thanks, Sam

@AustralianSuper I haven't looked at my Account for many months but today I did & was shocked to see how much it has lost money over the months I hadn't been looking at it. This is disgraceful. I'm losing money & retirement is only around the corner. Can't wait to close account.
