Well I was going to return to Twitter (X is still a stupid name for it!) after a bit of a break so I’ve been just watching and reading for the last few days. What has happened to this place? It has always had some problems but now it is just full of political argument, which is fine if it’s done properly. However, it is now being done with far stronger language, name calling and what appears to be genuine hatred towards people. To be frank, I’m not interested in all that and don’t want to have to try and filter it all out when I’m reading through my timeline. It has always been there but it has grown so much since @elonmusk took over. Some of his posts, such as those regarding @SpaceX are fantastic. However, as the owner of this site I don’t believe he is doing himself or anyone else any favours by pushing his own opinions and political agendas. He should be above that. His posts are generating comments from all sides which are becoming more intense and making some difficult situations worse. Other influential people are doing the same. So I will not be returning to Twitter any time soon as I don’t want to have to spend the time filtering out all the rubbish so I can see the good posts. I will be making more use of my Instagram account instead captain_dave_airbus3501000 Hopefully things will improve on here but with the Presidential election in the USA to come in a few months I’m not expecting it to happen soon. Sorry everyone, but if you don’t look forward to reading your Twitter timeline then what’s the point of using it? Take care and be kind. 😄
