India silently made E20 fuel mandatory at every petrol pump in April 2026. No public vote. No consumer choice. No warning. Most cars on the road weren't even built for it. Here's everything you need to know — and what to do. 🧵

I am not concerned about the reels or influencers, that is noise. The message is that consumers should be aware about the real day to day issues with EVs today. I would suggest EVs to consumers in tier-1 cities with good infra or cities with good connected highways/expressways, and who are ready to understand the charging Infra or as their secondary vehicle. I will be hesitant to suggest it as the only car unless it is mostly for city with planned occasional highway drives. But, the infra will definitely improve here as it is a proven tech by Tesla in the USA and Europe, so I am hopeful for more adoption.

✅ Same loop again !! 🏷️ I will answer it as an Ev owner ,not the ones who keep on cribbing ,have no confidence in the tech (they can avoid it quite simple ) if we keep on talking about 10-15% of pain point on Evs we will end up nowhere !! Let’s start :: ✅ Okay, are these not real problems - EV charging stations being offline, software faults, cannot authenticate, won’t start charging, delivers less power than advertised ? 👉 Above video the owner planned poorly ,a blogger as primary profession ,I literally can’t fathom ,what’s real or what’s reel ok ,didn’t showed the Ev battery Soc ? Simply made a video real or fake no idea sir 👉 EV charging stations being offline : yes they show on the app if it’s offline or online ? OMC chargers are waste of money govt has no business doing charging infra ,they need to be facilitator in all this 👉 software faults : ? Can happen 👉 cannot authenticate, won’t start charging : ? Can happen Both of the above doesn’t happen every day boss ,better than adulterated fuel any day ,less speed of charging may cost u more time until u get to another fast one isn’t it ,CPOs are improving this stuff as well Software faults don’t land up daily 🫵🏻 delivers less power than advertised this is a problem do agree software faults, cannot authenticate, won’t start charging, delivers less power than advertised ? 🏷️ These are real problems due to which there will be a range anxiety and it is important make the people aware. 👉 Range anxiety is thing of past with current battery packs one is sorted for 350-400 km range ,plus one needs to be KYE (know your ev) complaint knowing what’s are its limits ,can’t be adventurous like u don’t go on low Soc same as u don’t go beyond reserve fuel !! 👉 Then there are different apps, different wallets. 🏷️ Yes ,what’s the issue ? In current scenario we have to accept what it is a unified app is on way Bhim app (started) most chargers will be integrated and moreover OEMs have integrated there apps he it me app for Maruti ,mg app for Mg ,Ira for Tata ,me4u Mahidnra ,even Hyundai and Koreans have done it I mean ,it’s a pain point put ,one gets used to it ,it is what it is. ✅ Home charging is the most reliable method if not travelling that’s why very easy and cost effective for cities. I am not against EVs, but hesitant to get into an unforeseen situation just because of a charging station unavailability. 🏷️ Even with 70k km ,of my highway travel I have 42% Dcfc while I have a 57% home charging ,one can be hesitant ur bang on ,but until one gets married u just don’t know how it’s all about there is a learning curve One u can’t adopt u get an ev otherwise one can opt for a cng and wait for the filling anyway or can have other powertrains nothing wrong I have driven my kona on highways only ,the infrastructure has helped me 95% of the time even more ,there have been 1-2 poor experience in my dcfc experience one has to plan and execute and once one gets used to the scheme of things it’s done 🏷️ And it can happen in ICe too, but it is much more common with EVs as not everyone is a charging station nerd. 👉 U don’t need to be a nerd ,yes u need to be aware of certain aspects for sure there is a learning curve ,fully agree I will sum up u will find bloggers influencers making such videos oh I have this much charge this much range I mis calculated etc etc it’s reel ,it’s about eF (engagement farming) an ev stranded or a charger not working get u more views vs an ICE in reserve fuel (hardly any views)

People have gone bonkers ,try to be adventures then land up posting also only to make fools of themselves lols then blame the tech ,infra ,bla bla my poor planning !! Do we take risk in an ICe vehicle on low fuel or single bar the answer is no !! Such ,videos will keep coming ,people have money to make via eF (engagement farming) sab chalda hae content de naam teh !! Poor planning has nothing to do with local or highway travel 🤣🤣🤣

An average person should buy an EV to drive within 150-200 km radius. If you are stranded even once on road, it’s a serious safety risk and with family it can be a nightmare. EV is an excellent tech (better than ICE) for 70-30 but don’t go into useless calculations and plannings. There are 100 better things in life to be worried for.

@AUTOINTELIN Agreed. One of the negatives that I see in the 2026 Renault Duster, no options of dials or a classic theme, I think they rectified it to some extent with the new Nissan Tekton.

How can Nissan Tekton's YouTube video do 13M views in 5 days, even more than the legendary Duster's launch video with 10M views since Jan 2026? Did it just go viral because of Hrithik (only ~800 likes)? Or are there too many Nissan GT-R fans in India?

Smart connected cars let you pre-cool the cabin, lock-unlock remotely or track location from your phone. But if your car spends most of its parked life in deep concrete basements at home, office, or malls; it’s of no use. With zero network signal underground, your car’s eSIM is totally brain-dead. You can't turn on the AC, locate your car, or unlock it. Why pay extra for features that fail exactly when you need them most?

Been using @Logitech MX Masters for the past few years and the quality is absolute trash I've had 5 so far. EVERY SINGLE ONE breaks after ~6 months of use with the EXACT SAME ISSUE (the left click stops working). Any good alternative to this junkware? The #1 things I need are the ability to horizontal scroll, all the buttons (eg, to easily move between desktops, as well as being able to swap between devices easily.

@kushgrwl As a secondary car for city and short distances, it is perfect plus is also cheaper to run. But as the only car, there is still range anxiety and charging station issues with the current infrastructure. You can manage obviously, but is not ideal.

While the principle that choice should lead to something better (cleaner fuel) is reasonable, it requires a clear, time-bound transition plan with transparent communication well in advance. With over 80% of vehicles on Indian roads still not E20-compliant and owners already bearing real costs, the government clearly discarding any practical options like E0 and E10 alongside higher blends during the transition shows pure arrogance and disinterest on genuine public concerns. Factual, coordinated public communication on the benefits and limitations of ethanol blending must come through official ministry and channels, not piecemeal or confrontational statements from the Minister of Road Transport & Highways. This approach would better protect consumers and strengthen policy credibility, as seen in well-structured programs in countries like Brazil and the USA.

"WILL GoI RETHINK OR SLOW DOWN E20 POLICY?" Question: "I was reading reports that you are now deciding to go slow after the backlash." Answer: Hardeep Singh Puri: "Again, again, again there is no backlash. E20 was done in April 2025. It's fully rolled out. Where is the question of going slow on E20?"... "We're not going to lower from E20 down. Absolutely not. It is out of the question."

WHY DENY CHOICE? WHY NOT ALLOW MOTORISTS TO USE E10, E0? PETROLEUM MINISTER HARDEEP PURI: "Choice has to be to something better."..."I have never heard of choice being asked for to go back into something which is more toxic." Rahul Shivshankar: But critics point to Brazil. Brazil gives a choice. Hardeep Singh Puri: Yes, Brazil gives a choice but between E27 and higher Segments. Not the other way round.

The new Nissan Tekton looks executive and refined, while the Duster leans rugged. The dark purple interior on the top trim might be hit or miss, but overall it’s a premium offering. Its silhouette and design resembles the current Creta, a good thing. Hope it does good numbers. #NissanTekton #Nissan #RenaultDuster

The main concern is forced unavailability of recommended petrol for non E20-compliant cars. It has affected the mileage and started damaging parts which means the owners are forcefully made to pay extra for fuel and maintenance. More than 80% of car owners are facing or will face these issues. E-20 compliant cars are mostly running fine unless there is adulteration in petrol pumps which brands like Toyota has also agreed to. But the Govt and car brand representatives just keep repeating the stupid statement that E-20 fuel will not affect E-20 compliant cars. Are they not able to comprehend the basic concern of so many car owners or are they just letting the time pass or do they think people are dumb?

Ethanol's high octane (~108.5 RON vs petrol's 84.4) means vehicles tuned for #E20 deliver better acceleration and ride quality — crucial in city driving. Its higher heat of vaporisation cools the intake, increasing air-fuel mixture density and volumetric efficiency. #CleanMobility #EnergySecurity
