@AvHistoryOgre

Interested in aviation and naval history. And history in general. Son of a sailor. Trying to avoid politics here.

@jerijerod14 Swiss Navy, sink on sight-USN (I actually had a US sailor tell me years ago that was a standing order on his ship).

Satellite TV before the space age! Stratovision, was a planned pan-American TV network, using 14 B-29 relay aircraft. It didn't progress beyond the trials seen in this image.

@slamdbang Possibly the most successful interwar fighter design, unless we’re counting things like the Bf-109.

He-51. Not the best interwar fighter, but one of the best looking. What do you think was the best fighter of the post WW1 - Spanish Civil War era?

@USAS_WW1 I'd give NC an edge for heavier guns, but I not enough to force a decision within an hour. Pure battleship-vs-battleship kills in World War II (Kirishima by WA and Yamashiro by WV+CA+TN) were radar-enabled night ambushes; fair fights weren't as decisive.

#USNavy #RoyalNavy #IJN #Questions - Battleship vs battleship. Bismarck vs USS North Carolina enter a 50-mile / 80-km diameter ring they must stay inside an hour. Which sinks? It could be one, both or maybe none. Assume war, gentle breeze, light fog, 9 am, April 1, 1941, no help.
