@bayraktar_1love I count 29 tanks at this facility (h/t @99Dominik_ for the geo), and of those 29, *1 is partly filled* with oil. The others are all cold (no oil inside to retain heat)

German govt officials say they can manage the repercussions if it's revealed that Ukraine blew up Nord Stream despite the opposition’s attempts to break off funding to Kyiv. They said the German public has already become accustomed to the idea that Kyiv was behind the attack. Still, senior officials have suggested, the diplomatic fallout of the bombings might have been easier for Germany to navigate if their detectives hadn’t so effectively built a case against Ukraine wsj.com/world/europe/t…

🚨Read how German detectives cracked the NordStream case If the suspected Ukrainian commander of the sabotage team is extradited from Italy to Germany to stand trial, Ukraine will be in the dock. My story via @WSJ wsj.com/world/europe/t…

@vahouse13 @TylerEnglander I was going off NBC news, which hadn't posted all the breakouts, but you knew that and are still salty. What exactly is the point you think looking at all the breakout data is going to prove?

Abigail Spanberger's margin of victory currently sits at 14.8%. That's the largest margin for a Democratic gubernatorial candidate in Virginia since Albertis Harrison won by 27.8% in 1961. That was 18 years before Abigail Spanberger was born.

The DoD Acquisition Transformation Strategy is out. Based on the grammar, it was seemingly drafted by a high school freshman. Most of the proposed reforms are breathtakingly stupid. The central premise of "solutions-based acquisition" is outright delusional.

@mitchellh @Xilo_K It's not "deploying" that's silly, it's the "forward" when they aren't forward, just traveling.

@devil_n_details @Xilo_K No, but the OP saying “deploying” aka in the process of deployment, not present or past tense. So, I’d say in the corporate sense it’s close enough (on their way to deployment lol)

@mitchellh @Xilo_K Do all the corporate types use the term wrong? The OP isn't "forward" at or near a client, they're on an airliner. Doing work on a plane isn't "forward deployment"; in the military we'd call it "being on a plane".

No idea who these guys are and no disrespect at all to military, but “forward deployment” has been a term in the corporate world for at least the 15 years I’ve been working out of college. I’m sure it’s based on military usage but not sure you can fault these guys for using pretty standard business lingo. 🤷‍♂️

Let me know when you discover the principles behind radar ducting. Evaporative and surface ducting are really INTERESTING natural phenomena that can make your business case obsolete and irrelevant. Additionally, radar technology has advanced A LOT. But hey, knock yourself out
Billy Thalheimer@billythalheimer

Actually seagliders will be VERY hard to see You can see torpedos via sonar You can see drones via radar Seagliders fly in the surface clutter in between Plus they're quiet and can go all-electric for no thermal signature too. We're working with SOCOM to characterize this.

@devil_n_details @josecanyousee Then we make sure there is no more suffering from this point on by reopening the Government! The Democrats need to strategically retreat and plan their next ACA fight in December.

are you fucking kidding me. this is some weak ass shit. my hope was that we would ask for more after the decisive victories we saw this week, but my expectation was that we would at least hold firm on extending the subsidies for a year. what was the point of dragging out a shutdown if you were just going to cave anyway? and for what, a promise “on a later date”? we’ll see what is announced but if this is true, im gonna be pissed at senate dems who caved because how are you feeling pressure when the party in charge isn’t? grow a spine.

@josecanyousee What about the millions of federal employees and military personnel who haven't been paid over a month? What about the SNAP recipients who may be starving at this point? Is it worth it to prolong the fight when the House removed any chances of voting for ACA subsidies?

@NavyStrang I'm sure 32 strike length cells was always the req, so "existing design" was never honest and nobody should have believed it, but...

It's not corruption, it's mission creep meets naval architecture. The Navy went from wanting an FFG to trying to build a "cheap" DDG. Going from the FREMM's 16 SAM-only cells to 32 Tomahawk-capable cells was a major design shift. It's program creep, not corruption.
Intelschizo@Schizointel

The Navy chose an existing design to speed up the process and then decided to redesign the entire ship from the keel up because they didn't like the existing design that was supposed to speed up the process and then they forgot to add the engines into their design. So then they had to go back to the drawing board because the weight was off and now it's just a complete nightmare and screams corruption.
