"games journalists bad at games" is such a pick me thing to say for someone who does games journalism. It's giving "not like other girls" energy. Presenting yourself as a "real gamer" by putting down journalists is basically a dog whistle these days because it's something all the culture war grifters do to try and discredit criticism that doesn't align with their views, or to try and give more credibility to whatever bs they're selling. How are people falling for this shit so blindly when journalists are beating games like Elden Ring before release and publishing the guides and walkthroughs all of you needed to do the same?

@Peevan_ To be fair they're worked on continuously while they discover stuff and information does get corrected and updated.

@AvatarObi lowk agree with everything except for that part about ER and prelease gameplay guides in general, majority of those guides were not ideal with some bordering on the line of misinformation. I view them more as preview samples for gaming content rather than gameplay guidance.
