Discussion about costs to the NHS of the 'watch and wait' fiasco for #hyperparathroidism. One comment: 'Watch and wait cost lives. By the time most of us get surgery on the NHS, the damage has already been done, some of it irreversible. Thus costing more money in the long run.'

@PHSOmbudsman @hsj My wonderful daughter Averil Hart died from an Eating disorder in 2012 following serious failings @ #CPFT, #NNUH, #CUHT and local GP services. Averil’s death resulted in the parliamentary PHSO report cited here. 10 years on why are NHS ED services still failing patients ?
