@AviWoolf Trump is going to be gone in a couple of years, for better or worse. I think some of these people are indeed turned off by politicization... and outside of moral questions, the church should be above politics. But some moral questions ARE disputed political questions.

@FreeSoilAndrew @AviWoolf This is accurate. If the church wants gen z to give them a shot, it goes beyond distancing away from Trump, but Trumpism/Vanceism/Tateism/etc. That does not mean they should go woke. But a return to the loving msg of the 80s/90s would go far.

@AviWoolf I think intermountain conservatism (Utah, Idaho, Wyoming) is the best antidote to both socialism and libertarianism (which, having lived in ‘liberaltarian’ Colorado, I now *abhor.*) The state plays a small but assertive role and it just seems to work.

@FreeSoilAndrew @AviWoolf This reminds me of couples I know who say they don’t want kids due to climate worry. I am 100% sure if we solver climate change tomorrow, they would just switch to some other justification

Half of Gen Z says Trump support keeps them out of church. A recent study by the Billy Graham Center Research Institute (Wheaton College), based on a nationally representative survey of 2,365 Gen Z adults (ages 18–28), found that 48% of all Gen Z respondents agreed that “Christians’ support of Trump has made me less likely to go to church.” I have told this exact thing to many of my evangelical friends - that their devotion and sometimes cult like worship of Trump will prevent many people from coming to Christ. In the 2025 Gallup poll, 'political agendas' constituted the biggest reason for lack of confidence in higher education. I'm not sure why people are trying to wing it when there is available data.

I'm glad Tyler posted this because it shows a major flaw in his argument and analysis. It is selective. Trust in most major institutions is down, not just higher ed. That strongly suggests it isn't primarily about what the "woke" are doing, but something deeper. 1/

Every academic promoting the accusation relies on the same assumption: that Israelis are foreign colonizers. Hutu Power deployed the same ideological inversion to justify the Rwandan Genocide.
