Fellow flight instructors - I'm looking to pick up my own handheld radio. It would mainly be for student solos, but a backup radio is always a good idea. What's worked well for you?

While approaching a pothole once, I had to remind myself that turning the steering wheel right would not raise the left side of my car to let the tire pass over it without incident.

Pilots who use iPads in the cockpit: What's the best way to avoid overheating the device when it's in the sunlight? I've seen cases that include cooling fans. Does that work? Any other tips? @chrisclarkefly @rodrakic @evan_schoo

One year ago today, I got my job as a part-time flight instructor...just in time for the pandemic to shift the landscape of the aviation world. I feel so lucky to have gotten that job when I see the CFIs across the country looking for work now. Brighter days are coming! 👨🏻‍✈️✈️
