Good morning Residents of Tshwane, especially our Commuters who rely on the Tshwane Bus Services. All our operations for the morning are suspended due to the fuel shortage, however delivery is expected at 10am The first delivery at 10am will be at the C de wet depot which runs the biggest shifts of 102. It will be followed by Jan niamand Depot and then Pretoria North. This delivery will be for the full capacity and we will be back to full bus operations for the afternoon and throughout the week. @AfikaSoyamba Ja there needs to be a willingness to really study the unintended consequences of this policy rather than dig heels in and defend the indefensible. It was meant to create social and economic justice but it destroyed so much value at the same time

There’s truth there. Employment equity, skills and supplier development have had real impact. But the problem isn’t that “the rest must go.” It’s that parts like ownership and procurement have been poorly designed and easily captured. Reform them so they drive real participation, not deal making. Keep what works, fix what doesn’t. That’s how you protect the gains without feeding the abuse.

BBBEE is under attack. That should worry us. Yes, it has flaws. But scrapping it isn’t reform, it’s regression. Fix the leaks. Close the loopholes. Build real economic participation.
