This tiny 3+2 bedroom bungalow was bought in Hamilton in 2022 for a staggering $1.2Million. 💸
They then put it up for rent. If you rented both upstairs and downstairs, you would have had to shell out $6,000 a month.
Fast forward 3 years and the owners have capitulated for a 40% loss at almost $500,000. 📉

Then sum the variances from the stands within the management unit. This gives you an anthropogenic management score

We are cutting Old Growth as fast as we can.
We are cutting Second Growth 60 - 160 years old as fast as we can.
Forests won't be allowed to get older than 60 Years anymore.

@ottawavalleywx @EcosystmDecoder For data load up the FRI and look at the age and extend of the stands that haven't been cut and then look at the age of the stands that have been in the last 100 years and compare the ratio... in the area of the undertaking.. productive area..

@AvsecC @EcosystmDecoder Any data on this? I thought they just targeted the forests that were the most accessible, normally along waterways that were used to float the logs in eastern Canada. L White pine forests that were targeted for timbers by the British historically burned every 30 years on avg.

@EcosystmDecoder @ottawavalleywx Logging over the last 100 yrs targeted old growth forests where disturbance was rare and fire didn't normally exist. Best timber there.. Young forest is common now because the OG area that didn't burn has been logged, and areas that burn well burn...

@ottawavalleywx Absolutely!! Forest Loss is a change to another land use type that is not forested.
Old Growth Loss is also a Loss because forests that took 10,000 years to grow and develop will not ever return.
So Forest Loss + Old Growth Loss is Hugely Detrimental for Planet Earth!!!
