Another attack we haven’t talked much about because of the massive Ras Laffan strikes. Abu Dhabi confirms operations at Habshan and Bab have been suspended after falling debris from intercepted missiles. No injuries reported. But these are not peripheral assets. Bab alone produces ~484,000 b/d — about 10% of UAE output. ADNOC Onshore overall accounts for ~40% of liquids. Habshan and Bab are also critical gas processing hubs feeding a system that supplies ~75% of the UAE’s sales gas. This is where it escalates: Disruption here doesn’t stay local. It hits power generation in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, with gas flows to EWEC and Dubai Supply Authority under pressure. It hits industry – Emirates Aluminium, Emirates Steel, Borouge. It hits exports – NGLs, condensate, sulphur flows through Ruwais and Etihad Rail. Everything is interconnected. And this sits at the core of ADNOC’s growth plans, with Onshore expected to deliver nearly half of the capacity needed to reach 5 million b/d. This is not just a temporary disruption. It’s a strike at the heart of the UAE’s energy system – with implications for supply, industry, and long-term capacity growth. 🛢️

Here is the compilation of all my posts regarding the basics of crude, condensates and refined products to help you make sense of how bad the situation is for each product. 1) Crude - The tussle for crude leading to high crude premiums and the mismatch of crude qualities to replace the medium sour crude that Asia sorely needs 2) Condensates - The impact of Qatar LNG outage to the oil and petchem world 3) Naphtha + LPG - The basic building blocks of plastics and the bare necessities of life 4) Mogas - the most politically charged barrel but the easiest to solve in the current crisis 5) Jet fuel - The most stressed barrel because you can only get jet fuel from refineries 6) Diesel - The workhorse of the barrel. You need this fuel in industry, power gen, mining, fishing. 7) Fuel oil - The forgotten, unloved barrel but is now priced higher than crude. This is used predominantly as bunker fuel in many of our ships, so again - no crude for refineries = no bunker fuel produced Sharing is caring. Repost if you care. #oott

@downshifting___ Tuloloukku katoaa mutta tulot toisaalta myös putoavat. Ja nykyisin kovin monella ottaa suorastaan kunnian päälle kotiäitiys, rinnastetaan julkisessa keskustelussakin lähes ideologiseen työttömyyteen tai suoranaiseen hihhulointiin.

Kannustinloukuista: Lapsiperheen vanhemmat pohtivat palkkoja korottavien ylennysten vastaanottamista. Tulorajojen vuoksi muutto subventoidusta vuokra-asunnosta edessä, samalla alueella markkinahinnat noin 20% kovemmat. Päivähoitomaksut nousevat samalla maksimiin. Ei kannata.

@downshifting___ Jos lannoiteiden tuonti lakkaa & tuontielintarvikkeita ei maahan pääse, saa suomalainenkin tosissaan alkaa taas miettimään, että mitäs se marjastus & kalastus olikaan & mitäs sieniä sai syödä.

@pennanen_jussi @KuittinenPetri Yhteisöt oli tiiviitä, sukupolvet asuivat yhdessä, vauvat ja vanhukset hoidettiin rakkaudella eikä laitoksissa. Ja konkreettinenntyö toi tyydytystä iun näki oman työnsä tulokset.

@KuittinenPetri @downshifting___ Maatalous oli vielä jokseenkin yhteiskunnan perusta, eikä kuormittanut ympäristöä siinä määrin kuin mainitsemasi tehomaatalous. Ihmiset oli pääosin sidottu maatalouteen, eikä heille luotu & keksitty loputtomasti turhia tarpeita sekä turhaa työtä. Elinkeino oli yhtä kuin elanto.
