For context: the government took the decision to put up a new asylum center without ever even consulting the locals first. In response, the locals protested peacefully and were immediately met with huge police forces. Young children were beaten with batons and worried citizens have been branded as “far right extremists” by the media for weeks. I myself have been branded a security threat multiple times on national television for having tweeted about it ONCE.
And the worst of it all is: the government simply of course did not listen to the locals’ complaints and went ahead anyway.
Now in this particular instance, people on the ground state that an asylum seeker made a throat slashing gesture at them, to which someone threw fireworks in response causing the fire.

🚨BREAKING: CIA experts believed as early as 2020 that COVID-19 likely came from a laboratory in China, but leaders in the agency changed those conclusions, senior CIA officer James Erdman III told the Senate on May 13.
Many people within the CIA assessed that the most likely origin of COVID-19 was the high-level laboratory in Wuhan, China, where the first cases appeared in 2019, Erdman said in Washington in testimony to a Senate committee.
Erdman, who led an investigation into how intelligence officials handled assessments of the origin of COVID-19, said that documents obtained during the probe show that as of Aug. 12, 2021, the CIA was considering describing the origin as a lab leak. That changed five days later.
Erdman said that the CIA declined to provide his team the documents they requested that may have shed light on the change, but that it happened after Dr. Anthony Fauci, then-head of the National Institutes of Health—which provided funding for the Wuhan lab—met with intelligence community officials and provided a list of experts with whom he had a long history.

Hey nederlanders,
U dacht natuurlijk dat de wet van het 2 statussen-stelsel dat met veel pijn en moeite door de 1ste Kamer geloodst is, in werking is getreden.
Nou, bukt u maar weer, u wordt weer belazerd.
Op de vraag van @MonaKeijzer waarom de wet nog niet is ingevoerd:
De IND zit de zaak te frustreren dus het is nog maar de vraag wat er eerder is: het migratie Pact of deze wet.
Het boeit ze niet, ze klooien maar wat aan en als het erop aan komt dan zie je wie de touwtjes echt in handen heeft: de bestuurlijke kaste, in dit geval het IND.
Volgende keer weer CDA stemmen luitjes? Bart van de brink regelt het voor u. Dus niet.
De rest van de andere partijen zitten te slapen tijdens de commissie-vergadering.
Gelukkig is @MonaKeijzer wakker.

The number of people killed in Kyiv as a result of Russian attack has risen to seven, including a 12-year-old girl.
Search and rescue crews are still working through the rubble of the destroyed residential building in the Darnytskyi district, while at least 20 people remain missing, according to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service.

As of now, already 5 people have been reported killed in Kyiv as a result of last night’s Russian attack. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Around 40 people have been injured in the capital, and another 7 in the Kyiv region. There are already 28 injured in Kharkiv. And two people have been injured in the Odesa region. In total, 180 sites have been damaged across the country, including more than 50 ordinary residential buildings. A search and rescue operation is still ongoing in Kyiv’s Darnytskyi district. Efforts continue to find people under the rubble. More than 10 people are reported missing. All necessary services are also operating in the Obolonskyi district. And recovery efforts are underway after Russian strikes in the Poltava region. Overall, more than 750 personnel of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and nearly 750 police officers have already been engaged across the country to eliminate the consequences of the attack. I am grateful to all who help the rescuers and the police Also, earlier today, during a humanitarian mission in Kherson, the Russians twice attacked a vehicle of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs with FPV drones, and the Russians could not have been unaware of which vehicle they were targeting. The Head of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and eight other staff members were inside. Fortunately, no one was injured. The mission personnel have been evacuated. And of course, the most difficult challenge is defending against ballistic missiles. I thank everyone who is helping us with this. There must be a just response to all these strikes. And pressure on Moscow must be such that they feel the consequences of their terror there. It is important that global sanctions against Russia remain in place. Russia’s accountability for this war, and our sanctions pressure, must work at full strength. And it is also very important that the world does not stay silent about this terror and stands with Ukraine.
