$btc short builds - some monitoring Squeeze is slowly unfolding ✅ The plan of sailing to 74.1k. Alright, some monitoring on the main trade we are aiming to play this week, which are these shorts. Currently on a 3 win streak again, all called out in real time by the way, and with this slower play, aiming to lock in the 4th in a row. Management slightly different here since this is a slow build alongside large whales (large moves) and we have a fixed target of new local lows (74.1k) where I aim to TP one and done, not take multiple partials (maybe 1 partial halfway). Also notice I mention 74.1k now. At first I said 74.2k, but let me change it to 74.2k to avoid confusion since "74.2k has already been hit". The material difference between 74.2k and 74.1k is negligible. Execution is all about clarity so here you go. Now monitoring the shorts we started over the weekend, where we talked about a squeeze and unravel of the remaining shorts coming as the MM's push with spot. Clearly seeing the onset of that now, with OI dropping, L/S ratio rising and spot CVD (in red) clearly leading. There is more to it, some signatures involved, some tricks of my own to confirm speculation. But keeping the post short, for now, it's clear there are still shorts in the system and I'm just showing the basics, with textbook behaviour of a squeeze in play. What we want is identifying the end of it, which starts the drop and what we time our short position into. In essence (the simple version) is we want those temporary spot buys, (which are placed to hide long exposure in the funding rate and long short ratio, two very misinterpreted metrics for this exact reason), to absorb the shorts, and then drop the market. All those shorts forcing to close is exactly what pays the big whales, before they drop the market below the lows next and spot reload again (=our target = they make money again, so do we). About those lows of 74.2k, and why we move below to 74.1k at least, the TPO chart is showing clear gaps in the low end of the profile on Saturday, followed by the poor quality of the low and the classic pattern we always see on dumpy weekends. Aside from price action reasons, clear signs it will be taken out and why I am shorting towards it. It's really just classic squeeze play but with a spot cover and some poor lows left below which explains nicely why I track things like spot CVD and TPO. Again to remind you to be patient for the drop to fully unravel, no market drops whilst paying the majority, they get punished first. I promise it will unravel though either with time or price, this is textbook behaviour, as we aim for new lows after the event. I indeed promise 74.1k is coming.

$btc shorts Squeeze first, then pinch. Right now, we are seeing some clamping going on. Essentially, a full (or partial) flip of local large money turning longs into spot. This decreases the funding rate (top row) whilst OI gets an initial drop (blue bars) , then stays flat with some final squeeze action. Once they are fully unravelled, the squeezing pressure resolves and we top IMO. I will ad to my shorts I started today for an optimal final build. But the key is to be patient for that and not compromise your position by adding aggressively early on. Exactly what I will do, using the order flow to be on the winning side. Which we will be IMO. The final step of the plan is new lows coming once more after the squeeze is done. Let's see if the trade will work out for the fourth time in a row.

There’s a lot of ancient whales and family offices globally that are way too overweight ETH (and other L1s) and need to rebalance into $HYPE. Garret alone recently capitulated >$1B ETH and is just now beginning his twap. Enormous amount of firepower for new highs as these folks rotate.

Garret bullish (@GarrettBullish) withdrew $40M USDC from Binance 10 hours ago and just deposited $10M USDC to Hyperliquid and started buying HYPE. hypurrscan.io/address/0x92ea…

TradFi interest in $HYPE is accelerating with $PURR having its highest volume day ever at ~$210M. What’s more is it’s possible PURR raised 8 figures today to buy more HYPE given 1) it trades at a ~1.2x mNAV premium and 2) they’ve recently began tapping their equity facility. This is a significant positive surprise given almost no DAT outside MSTR and BMNR has been able to attract meaningful volumes or tap their ATMs since the DAT bubble burst last year. Few if any were underwriting PURR becoming the 3rd highest volume DAT and making real progress on its $1B equity facility. My bet is this continues accelerating as HYPE becomes the schelling point to play “IPO season”.

Hyperliquid is up over $1 Billion+ buying back their own token. Remember when people said that rebuying their own token was a misallocation of capital? What other asset in crypto could they have bought for returns like this at this size? JEFF MODE

In the best way possible, Hyperliquid is starting to feel like a radical online cult building a digital cathedral for global finance. It’s amusing seeing all these centralized crypto companies buy $HYPE to signal alignment to the community as if it’s tribute. I don’t recall this ever happening with any asset other than $BTC. Beyond the obvious flows benefit, the practical implication here is that an increasingly wide and powerful network of people and institutions in the crypto ecosystem are all highly incentivized to make Hyperliquid a massive success. I honestly believe this dynamic wouldn’t exist if Hyperliquid didn’t do a fair launch and rekindle crypto’s original spirit. My bet is this will remain a compounding advantage for Hyperliquid well into the future.
