I feel like with the internet you have to 100% hate something or 100% love it.
You cannot recognize or acknowledge the good in something bad or the bad in something good. Nuance is not something that exists in our world anymore.
Just something I thought of while rewatching Batman V Superman tonight with the kiddos.
There’s a lot of stinky shit in this movie but man is there a lot of stuff I really loved. Batfleck had so many great scenes and moments in this movie and some awesome dialogue throughout. Plus, warehouse fight (peak and pretty much live action Arkham)
Jesse Esienburg Lex simply should not exist and the movie has a pretty horrific final act, but there really is a lot to appreciate.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s deserving of criticism but you’ll never convince me it’s one of the worst CBM’s ever made. I could name 10 MCU films of the last decade infinitely worse.
I’m excited for the future of DC under Gunn, but I do hate the DCEU never got a proper conclusion. Flawed as it was. I really need to fire up my Talks channel and cover film and tv more because I love talking about shit like this.
