As to “our government’s job” — Thomas Jefferson was sending troops to the Barbary Coast to fight radical Islamists in 1800. I think he understands the “government’s job” better than you do. You can criticize the President’s decision but have enough humility to admit you don’t have all the facts and certainly not the classified intel. But, most important, stop being a jerk.
