@AxessLab I read axesslab.com/text-splitting/ Would it not be better to campaign for a cross browser solution like `role="inherit"`? Validators hate the role=text thing, even flagging it as an accessibility fail

@sreberkowiec Sorry about that! Was frustrated when I wrote it. Had to get it out. But not very constructive to just complain. Anyway, the main advice I wanted to get across was: "Always show an error message when a user clicks a button and something is wrong." Thanks for the feedback! Hampus

@AxessLab axesslab.com/disabled-butto… I just read your article, about the disabled buttons - and I must say it's not very accessible, I had to read it twice to find _any_ advice what to do instead, and it was just one paragraph in a 3-page rant about how disabled buttons suck.

@tinitun @smashingmag Completely agree. Problem is that few (anyone?) show error messages when users try to click disabled buttons.

@smashingmag @AxessLab Agree, but disabling a button doesn’t mean that you cannot inform the user about the errors found.

Is it a good idea to disable “submit” or “continue” button if some input is incorrect is missing? Probably not: we are missing out on an opportunity to communicate to customers what exactly is wrong, and how to fix it. “Disabled buttons suck” by @AxessLab axesslab.com/disabled-butto…

@AxessLab Thanks! It’s for a digital yearbook. Users can upload up to 10 photos with optional caption. They will all appear on the same page so I was trying to avoid redundant alt text. They also appear in a big photo album of all users.
