I think one of the worst effects of the internet is that it allowed all the idiots to connect with each other and convince themselves it's actually good to be ignorant instead of continuing to see learning as something valuable (even if difficult to obtain).

One of the reasons I’ve stayed away from Nigerian politics is simple: I try to anchor my views on economic structure, not party loyalty. But I’ve realized most conversations miss the real issue entirely. Everyone wants relief. Very few ask what the mechanics are.

I agree politics shapes outcomes, but I don’t fully agree that citizens need to be sophisticated to engage meaningfully.
People don’t need to understand macro theory to recognize cause and effect in their daily reality, prices, income, jobs, cost of living.

@Ayomide The decisions that drive our economic realities are being shaped by politics. If we're interested in sound economic decisions, we then have to be EQUALLY interested in the country's politics, as it produces the decisions.
