I guess this isn’t really designed for creators. YouTube is heavily focused on “audience completely watched the whole video.” Over the past months (or even years), the audience has been getting younger and younger. They have less and less patience to watch full videos — they mostly just watch Shorts from their favorite creators. For YouTube, this isn’t great for advertisers either. The whole “watch the whole video” system is built on the assumption of long-term focus and attention.

@PinaPengin in practise this is very weirdly restricted and gatekeeping what i think could be way better @TeamYouTube if youre listening: add a "notification and recommended only for top fans", so for extra fan/side content, you know you wont lose subscribers from the main videos
