I’m going to try to get back to something I regularly encouraged a few years ago—to walk or exercise at least 15 mins every day. Not only is it good to get the blood flowing for your physical health (even for a little bit), but maybe more importantly, it’s great for your mental health! The goal here is to just START. If you can or want to do more than 15 mins, that’s great, but for most, a dedicated time to exercise isn’t part of their daily routine (including mine). The goal is to start building habits—good habits that will allow us all to endure stressful times now and live longer, healthier lives in the future.
My reminders to walk/exercise for 15 minutes isn’t just tallying movement you do or need to do already like for chores or walking around at work. It’s a conscious effort to walk/exercise an EXTRA 15 minutes every day to add to what you’re already doing.
So, anyone want to join me? I’m going to try to stick to this every day during Lent this year. In fact, PLEASE JOIN ME!! Let’s get healthier, friends!! 💪🏼🚶🏻♂️🥳🍩☕️❤️

Today marks 15 years since a gunman tried to assassinate me. He shot 19 people and killed six.
I almost died, and think of those who did every day.
As I look back on the years since I was shot, I’m reminded of how much is possible when we reach across divides and find common purpose. Together, we built a movement to end America’s gun violence crisis and have passed more than 820 gun safety laws across the nation.
I’ll never stop fighting. This mission is for Christina-Taylor, Gabe, John, Phyllis, Dorothy, and Dorwan—and every single victim and survivor of gun violence. We will build the safer future they deserved. I’m sure of it.

THANK YOU!
If you voted in this year's Tucson Weekly "Best Of Tucson", you made Whats Up Tucson the winner of Best Local X/Twitter Feed for the EIGHTH TIME. Wow!
Whats Up Tucson started on Twitter, and 2025 is the 16th year it has existed. I have worked on it every day during that time without a single day break. (That's either awesome or insanity, maybe both)
There aren't awards for a page like mine (this comes the closest), and I'm grateful that you follow on X, contribute content, make donations to support, and make the many hours that go into this worthwhile.
I appreciate you.

@whatsuptucson if you are heading west on Valencia Rd, it is blocked off due to an accident. Turn onto Benson Hwy or take the freeway. It is shut down before Mesquite Desert Trail

@Julius_Kim Wait until you start putting cameras up to watch their nests. 😄 I have one watching mourning doves and one for the hummingbirds.

I have a HUGE secret. Well, several actually.
It’s my birthday... AND I want to give you the knife kit that made this July 4th feast possible.
My idea of a summer birthday BBQ is perfectly grilled chicken, corn salad with fresnos and plums, and my version of Flo Fab’s potato salad—a flawless classic I make all summer long. It’s simple, summery, and guaranteed to please everyone in the family.
My SECRET to grilled chicken actually delivers! @shuncutlery’s boning knife. The flexible, razor-sharp blade makes breaking down a whole chicken effortless. It’s been a game-changer in my kitchen—and it will be in yours too. And the marinade and grilling tips will make sure your meal turns out perfectly, every time.
How to win a Shun Grilling bundle (boning knife, 4 steak knives, and a carving set):
1. Like this post
2. Tag 2 friends in the comments
3. Make sure you’re following @chefaz & @shuncutlery
4. Winner will be chosen at random on July 9, 2025.
5. Good luck!

AWFUL! PLEASE SHARE: I'm told the two men who you see here with hats on, walked into Pima Animal Care Center with two dogs briefly, before returning to a U-haul and releasing ELEVEN dogs. The under-socialized dogs were dumped in PACC's parking lot and are now entering an already critically full shelter. Staff says, "And not to mention the short-term consequence of all the time the amazing staff and volunteers had to take to safely corral and capture all these loose, pretty much feral dogs. It was not easy and interrupted normal operations/adoptions/fostering. But we rocked it!!"
If you have any information about these people, please reach out to PACC.
