Last night, Ahmadreza suffered a heart attack. He has been transferred to the hospital section in Evin Prison. He was informed that he will not be able to see a cardiologist until Sunday. After nine years of suffering, his health is declining rapidly. His life is at immediate risk and he must urgently receive proper care.  I appeal to Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and Swedish Minister of Foreign Affairs to do everything in their power to secure his immediate release. @SwedishPM @MariaStenergard @EU_Commission

After 17 months in prison, journalists Elahe Mohammadi and Niloofar Hamedi, who reported on Mahsa (Jina) Amini’s death, were temporarily released on bail on January 14, 2024, and are now free following a final court ruling. The most serious charge against them was dropped, and the remaining charges were dismissed under an pardon order. Media outlets affiliated with the Islamic Republic and the judiciary have claimed that these "two individuals, in a letter, expressed regret for their past actions and committed to not engaging in any illegal behavior." These false statements, along with the pardoning of these committed journalists and political and social activists during a government occasion, aim to discredit them in the eyes of the public. This tactic has long been exposed to a large segment of the Iranian population. #NiloofarHamedi #ElaheMohammadi #MahsaAmini #FreePress #JournalismIsNotACrime #Iran #HumanRights #WomenInJournalism #womenlifefreedom

The Supreme Court of the Islamic Republic of Iran has rejected the request for a retrial of Pakhshan Azizi, a social worker who dedicated her life to helping women and children. She now faces execution for a crime she never committed. #PakhshanAzizi #StopExecutionsInIran #HumanRights

Ten #Bahai women were detained in Baharestan, near Isfahan, #Iran today by the Islamic Republic's security forces at 6am without warrants or prior notification. Agents reportedly scaled walls and coerced neighbors to raid the homes of Boshra Motahhar, Sara Shakib, Sanaz Rasteh, Shourangiz Bahamin, Firouzeh Rastinejad, Maryam Khorsandi, Mojgan Pourshafi, Nasrin Khademi, Roya Azadkhosh, and Azita Rezvanikhah. Some of these women are mothers of young children, while others care for elderly parents. They have all previously been unjustly sentenced to prison terms. The Baha’i International Community is appalled by this latest outrage, particularly just two days before Iran’s human rights review at the UN. Baha’i women face a dual violation of their #HumanRights—as women and as Baha’is—as highlighted in a recent statement by @UN human rights experts. We call for the immediate release of these women. #OurStoryIsOne

Two notorious Iranian judges, Mohammad Moghiseh and Ali Razini, known for violating human rights and issuing execution orders, were assassinated near the Supreme Court building, Iranian news agencies reported. Judge Miri and a bodyguard were also injured during the attack. Reports indicate that the assailant committed suicide after the shooting. Moghiseh, operating under the alias "Naseri," began his judiciary career at the Islamic Revolutionary Court in 1981 (1360). He gained infamy during the 1980s (1360s) for his role in the mass executions of 1988 (1367), earning a reputation for cruelty and ruthlessness. His record also includes issuing heavy sentences against protesters challenging the results of the 2009 (1388) presidential election.

Humanitarian worker and civil society activist Pakhshan Azizi, from Iran’s oppressed Kurdish ethnic minority, is at risk of execution following a grossly unfair trial by a Revolutionary Court in Tehran. In July 2024, she was sentenced to death solely in relation to her peaceful humanitarian and human rights activities, including assisting displaced women and children in north-east Syria. Her allegations of torture and other ill-treatment were never investigated. .
