@3CH0plays Every time I load the game I get a wash of nostalgia, looking at everything I feel so excited and enticed, playing, tingles in my eyes, fighting tears. I missed a lot over the years being out in the ocean and came back hating the game because it what I remembered. Now I need it..

The feelings regarding the death of Destiny 2 seem to wax and wane between grief, anger and hopefulness.
Each passing day changes the vibe and I haven't been able to land on anything with any stability. Just goes from one to another.
Anyone else feeling all over the place?

Hey @Sony @PlayStation, can you at least ‘acknowledge’ the Destiny movement over the last few weeks, even if it’s “we hear you,” “we don’t have plans just yet,” or better: “we’re already drafting the next steps in the Destiny universe?”
Something, anything would be welcomed.

Here's my problem with the "emergency acquisition" narrative: every single person in a position to know the financials had tens of millions of reasons to push it. Marty said on Act Man he made out well when Sony bought his stock. Barrett's lawsuit says he was owed ~$45-50M from the deal. The bigger the crisis story, the easier the sale. Maybe it's true! But nobody outside leadership has ever shown the actual numbers, and "trust me, we were dying" from people who got rich off the deal isn't evidence.

@keronage @samikatplays Bungie was below the red line before the Sony acquisition. If it wasn’t acquired right then, the studio was very close to shutting its doors at the very least on Destiny. It was an emergency acquisition

@Byrdman Marathon isn't for everyone. I stressed & sweated my ass off in Tarkov for 8 years, my friends don't play extraction shooters, I'm not playing Marathon. It's simple, I game to keep in touch with friends I can't see regularly, not to suffer through something I don't enjoy.

If Marathon fails then so does Bungie. If Marathon succeeds then Bungie lives to pitch Destiny 3 one day. It’s not a guarantee, but it’s the closest we’re getting to it right now.
The boycotting by creators only erodes the chances of what they really want. Gun to my head between D3 and Marathon I’m picking the former. We got Marathon though so let’s make the best of it.
Also the “just sell the IP” people need to take their medications. In no world would Destiny in anyone else’s hands besides Bungie feel right. Maybe I’d trust BioWare, but that’s a true stretch.
All in all actually give Marathon a shot on future free weekends if you haven’t. It’s a great game that deserves respect.

Half the community is going to hate me for saying this, but the only way to keep Bungie alive right now is to support Marathon. People keep comparing Marathon numbers to Destiny and frankly, that's ignorant. Marathon was never designed to do Bungie numbers. The conversations about that were very upfront early. It's more aligned with Tarkov than Destiny. Completely different target markets that just so happen to have a wide intersection with Destiny target markets since it uniquely has so many.

Spending money on Destiny also goes to Bungie like what is she talking about? Destiny is one of the top selling games on steam rn Marathon is not.
If I’m spending money on Bungie games it’s gonna be Destiny end of story.
Let Bungie invest and cook at what they are good at and known for @Sony . Prior leadership ruined everything but YOU can turn it around. Make the right choice.
