@zerix_v Of course and no one is saying the responsibility is on the woman, only that if you marry a working woman and you have to compromise on your rights then it’s fair to ask her to do so the same

ALL financial responsibility is upon the man in islam, there is no compromise to this. but if a women can help her husband financially, its her choice. and thats what it ultimately its all about, the wife's choice, she can choose to or choose not to even if she can.
Azazel@AzarilMalak

This is a very big misconception btw. Islam allows 50/50 and is a very flexible religion that takes into account culture and the state of the people. It’s not the default is what most mean but you’re allowed to come to a compromise.

@AzarilMalak Allah is the provider, its not the man or the wife noo. Its Allah and provision from Allah comes to the wife through her husband. When will people understand its not us. Its not the food that gives us nutrition, its not the medicine that cures us. Nothing is done by us.

@AzarilMalak this is wrong lol if u won’t be able to provide do not get married. There’s no such thing as going 50/50 in Islam. If u rely on ur wife to provide as well u r pathetic idc if in the west society relies on two people working

@AzarilMalak Its not bold at all. Your posts shows that you do not fully understand who Allah is. The creator of everything is reduced to 50/50. People can't accept they're not wealthy so instead of living with what they have, they focus on money instead of the One who made it.

Muslims in the UK are better off doing 50/50 marriages.

@tkbryusuf You’re putting the cart before the horse there pal. I also said that when children come along it should move to a more equitable contribution

@AzarilMalak 50/50 necessitates she won’t have time to raise the children. so who should then?

@AzarilMalak Is your faith in Allah that low that you have to resort to 50/50? Have you people forgotten who the provider is? Who the creator of this world and everything in it is? Where is Allah in this 50/50? No where, trust in Allahs plan, He is the best of planners.

@tkbryusuf In an ideal world the wife should. However, the economy is less than ideal and women are more career driven so if a man has to forgo the right of his children being raised by his wife then a compromise must be met

@tkbryusuf Sometimes we give up our rights to make things easier for our spouse. A man has right to intimacy and yet can give it up to make things easier for his wife - it does not means she’s humiliated for not fulfilling his right.

@AzarilMalak 50/50 marriage is a humiliation ritual and your wife has to give up her GOD GIVEN right

@AbuStarmer No one said it does. Something can be a ruling and yet circumstances can create a valid reason to seek an alternative. 5 salahs a day are mandatory and yet travelling means it can be reduced in numbers. The ruling isn’t being overturned if one opts for the alternative

@AzarilMalak Then explain it properly instead of hiding behind vague statements. You brought up the Prophet ﷺ’s hardship to justify your point but it doesn’t change the ruling

There were time when the Prophet PBUH couldn’t provide for his wives and even times when he relied on their wealth because circumstances required it. People who say stuff like this are just ignorant to the deen and the life of the prophet Muhammad sws

@AzarilMalak Then what are you even arguing for? You admit provision is the man’s responsibility so bringing up the Prophet ﷺ’s hardship proves nothing

@AzarilMalak Allah literally makes it a duty for a man to provide for his wife (4:34). Provision is not a shared obligation and it never will be His wives like Khadijah (RA) supporting him was voluntary not an obligation he relied on as a system. There’s a difference

@AzarilMalak True, it’s also safe to assume after children a woman won’t want to work (atleast for a few years) so again I’d say prepare for that time through another income. May الله ease our affairs

@AzarilMalak Completely understand with economical factors, however I also believe men should strive in their earnings. One income isn’t enough, upskill yourself, start businesses, learn a trade, etc. You have tawwakul in الله but you also need to tie your camel

One of my favourite stories is that of Julaybeeb RA. An ugly man who was broke but Muhammad sws found him a wife and went to the companions to get donations so he could marry. He never once said “You can’t marry till you can provide.” nor admonished him. Lesson there for us.
