@Louparun @craigkellyAFEE That is N O T what Hawke said. Why bother making sh*t up?

“Our Word Means Something”?
What a Sick Joke.
I had to physically restrain myself from hurling something at the TV the moment I heard that smirking, weasel Albanese declare, “Our word means something.”
This coming from a pathological liar whose word means absolutely nothing — a man who won’t tell the truth if it slapped him across the face, and who’ll spit out any filthy lie if he thinks it’ll buy him one extra vote.
And let’s never forget exactly why we’re in this shameful mess.
We signed the IEA agreement and our politicians gave Australia’s solemn word to keep a minimum 90 days of petrol and diesel reserves.
Shamefully, Australia is the only nation on Earth that has arrogantly broken its word and completely ignored this obligation.
And now Albanese is up in Singapore begging that Australia be forgiven for breaking its word.
No one — and I mean no one — is more directly responsible for Australia breaking its word than Anthony Albanese.
For six long years as Infrastructure and Transport Minister under the Rudd/Gillard/Rudd circus, and nearly four years as Prime Minister, he has contemptuously thumbed his nose at the promise Australia made to the world.
No wonder we was smirking as he lied through his teeth yet again.
Every single time this man opens his mouth, a torrent of lies, spin, and pure dishonesty comes gushing out like raw sewage.
Listening to him makes you want to vomit.

@anna_prole @wideawake_media … which billionaire got his start in life as the ‘gofer’ of the corrupt Joh Bjelke-Petersen.
English

@wideawake_media I mean he’d know first hand considering his senate seat was literally bought by a billionaire.

Australian senator Ralph Babet maintains that world leaders are ultimately puppets and do not truly hold power.
"The people behind the scenes... that control the levers of power—they don't have your best interests at heart."
"These authoritarian tyrants want nothing but to see you be a serf, be a slave, be a peasant."
"So do not be complacent. Get active... make your voice heard."
"Because the West—all of the West—is looking down a barrel right now."

🚨 The Pentagon summoned the Pope’s ambassador to a closed-door meeting and threatened him.
Named official. On record.
Undersecretary of Defense Elbridge Colby called Cardinal Christophe Pierre to the Pentagon and delivered this message:
“The United States has the military power to do whatever it wants in the world. The Catholic Church had better take its side.”
Then a U.S. official invoked the Avignon Papacy — the 14th century moment when the French monarchy used military force to physically remove the Pope from Rome and bend the Church to its will.
The Vatican understood the reference immediately.
The Pope’s planned visit to America for the 250th anniversary celebration was cancelled.
And then something remarkable happened.
The Pope didn’t retreat. He pressed harder. He called the war unjust. He called Trump’s threats unacceptable. He told Americans to call Congress.

Netanyahu is furious at Spain for "defaming" IDF soldiers. What did Spain say? That the IDF is committing genocide? That the IDF targets civilians? That the IDF has created a humanitarian catastrophe?
These are not defamations — these are facts documented by the UN, the ICC, the ICJ, and every major human rights organization. Spain didn't defame the IDF. Spain described the IDF

JD Vance flew to Budapest this week to campaign for Viktor Orbán, five days before the Hungarian election. Not as a private citizen. As Vice President of the United States.
Let us be precise about what that means, because the words matter.
Orbán has spent fifteen years turning Hungary into a one-party state with the trappings of elections. Controlled courts. Captured media. Gerrymandered constituencies. A leader who says the EU is a greater threat to Hungary than Russia, while taking Russian gas, blocking EU sanctions, and vetoing military aid to Ukraine at every opportunity.
This is what Vance flew in to endorse. This is what Trump called complete and total support. This is what Rubio came to validate in February.
The analogy writes itself, and it is not comfortable. In 1956, Soviet tanks rolled into Budapest to crush a Hungarian uprising and keep a compliant government in power. The world was horrified. America condemned it as definitive proof of what the Soviet empire actually was beneath the slogans. Seven decades later, the United States is doing the political equivalent without the tanks but with the same logic: a great power intervening in a small country’s election to keep the right man in charge. The right man, in this case, being the one most useful to Moscow.
That is the geometry of it.
Vance spoke of Christian civilization and shared moral values while standing next to a man the European Union has spent years formally sanctioning for dismantling the rule of law. The same rule of law that America spent the entire Cold War telling the world was the thing that separated us from them.
America used to be them’s biggest nightmare. It has become them.
Europe has seen this before. Different flag, same playbook. The conclusion writes itself, and nobody in Brussels, Warsaw or Tallinn is struggling to reach it. This White House is not an ally. It is a subsidiary, and the parent company is in Moscow.
Seventy years of partnership. Shredded in Budapest by a man who flew in from Washington to do Putin’s electoral errands..

@lesstenny Very good interview on ABC Radio this morning with an Australian expert in counter-insurgency, named Kilcullen. I only caught part of it but he was damning of the US effort. He didn’t quite spell it out, but he clearly thought no experienced minds were at work in the US War Dept.

@mattjcan Maybe, if you want shit that makes no sense on economic or environmental grounds, you promise to fund it as government, and then campaign to be elected on that basis. Much like Dutton was forced to do in 2025, when the private sector wanted nothing to do with your nuclear plans?

In 2018, an Australian businessman approached me wanting to build a diesel refinery at Gladstone. I was gung-ho and put him in touch with the Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility, which could help.
But in the end, he could not even open a bank account with an Australian bank because it involved oil and was against their net-zero plans.
Yesterday, @KevinHoganMP , @SenMcDonald and I wrote to the banks asking them to clarify whether they would support investment in new refineries, given our clear national interest in improving fuel security.
This is a test for Australian banks. Do they support our national interest or do they support net zero?

It’s almost like Netanyahu’s military regime launches extreme, deadly action against civilians, secure in the knowledge neither he nor they will ever be held to account? World, what do you say?
sarah@sahouraxo
This is horror in real time. The moment Israel started dropping bombs on CIVILIAN AREAS in Lebanon. Without any warning. Israel dropped 160 bombs in the first minute alone — massacring over 250 civilians, dozens of them children. People are still buried under the rubble.

@WillKingston @PaulineHansonOz @GBNEWS Maybe ask Sen. Hanson how, less than 4 years into a 6-yr term as a Queensland senator, she can become PM without resigning from the Senate, standing in & winning a House of Reps seat, & then commanding the support of a majority on the floor of that House? Otherwise, end the BS!
English

She’s been smeared, ridiculed, wrongfully jailed & written off… But she keeps coming back. After one of the most extraordinary political careers in 🇦🇺 history, could @PaulineHansonOz’s final chapter end in the PM’s Lodge? I’m chatting to her for @GBNEWS next week.
What should I ask Pauline?
