The park ranger found me sitting on a bench at closing time and didn't make me leave immediately. Her: Park closes in ten minutes. Me: I know. Sorry. Her: You okay? Me: Just needed somewhere to sit that wasn't my apartment. Her: How long you been out here? Me: Since noon. Her: It's six. Me: I know. Her: You eaten today? Me: Not really. She sat down on the other end of the bench. Her: I'm not supposed to do this. But I've got ten minutes. Me: You don't have to. Her: I know. Neither of us said anything for a bit. Her: Bad day or bad season? Me: Season. Her: How long? Me: Since my mom passed. Eight months. Her: I'm sorry. Me: I keep ending up in parks. Her: There are worse places. Me: She liked parks. Her: Then this makes sense. Me: Does it get less strange? Her: Grief? It gets different. Strange for a long time. Me: That's honest. Her: Seemed like you needed honest. She walked me to the gate when the ten minutes ended. Her: Same bench tomorrow if you need it. Me: Thank you. Her: She'd want you eating though. I stopped and got food on the way home. First real meal in three days. Grief needs a place to sit and someone who doesn't rush you off the bench.

Luke 19:10 – "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost." I will tell you something you may not realise. You're not as lost as you think! Psalm 119:176 – "I have wandered away like a lost sheep; come and find me." Truthfully, you are but a prayer away from salvation, redemption and being in the Spirit of the Lord. Take a moment, in a quiet place, and speak to your Heavenly Father. No distractions. No posting about when you do. Don't record it for social media. No excuses. Have a conversation with God as you would someone in front of you but keep in mind that you are speaking to your Creator who knows you better than you know yourself. You know its the truth! Psalm 139:4: "Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely." 1 John 3:20: "If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything." You cannot hide from Him, so dont try. If something is weighing on your heart, as it has on mine these past few days....pray, talk, listen and obey. Father, I place my worries and troubles in Hour hands. May my spirit be led only by Your will, and may Your Spirit protect and shield me from the things I cannot see. Reveal Your plan to me so that I may be obedient in Your ways. In the Mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen

@Amreil7 It is strange the things I packed. We had 2 days flight notice so my packing was a bit more disorganized than I would have liked. Now every so often I look at something (like my coasters) and think, why would I pack that? 🤣😂

@AzeldaJ Agree, 100% I left a few things but brought my Afrikaans Bible , hymn book and 2x cookbooks.❤️ The fact that it was falling apart means it was well used and loved.

The decision to stop shrinking from anything. Christ said his burden is light because truth brings abundance. But the cross part means you leave the pumpkin shell behind. You’re built for maximum sacrifice and adventure, not fence-sitting. Calling yourself a believing Christian is a massive claim. Most of us barely grasp the depth of it.

@LibertyGal7687 That is so creative. I think I would like to try that. It is funny that she used them as Christmas arrangements, in Afrikasns they are colloquially called Krismis rose. Translates to Christmas Roses....

@AzeldaJ One year my mother cut some healthy blooms with a good amount of stalk, hung them upside down, and dried them out. Once dry, she then spraypainted them gold to use in Christmas floral arrangements. They actually looked pretty nice.

God really did bless WA with some of the most beautiful flowers with amazing vivid colors. Everywhere I look, there is beauty on display.

I just want to say thank you to everyone in the comments. There are so many that I won’t even be able to get to them all by the end of tonight. We are so loved by the American people who want us to succeed and who are helping us every single day to make this journey easier. We truly love the USA. Thank you for making this feel like home not pushing us away, but inviting us into your lives and taking care of us like we are your own. My lifetime is too short to ever pay back what the American people have done for us in just two weeks. To each and every one of you who have stood with us, met with us, and laughed with us… you are amazing. God bless America. 🏡

Today is two weeks in the USA.

@LibertyGal7687 I did not know that. Thank you! I am planting hydrangeas as soon as I have a garden and I wrote this on the paper we printed with the garden zones!

@AzeldaJ Beautiful! Those are Hydrangeas & Washington state has a great climate for them to grow well. Loamy soil is best. My mother had bushes 2-3x that size. If you put a rusty nail in the soil next to where the plants go down into the soil you can change the color. Iron is the key.
