Joel, you have spent literally years trying to morally excommunicate entire swaths of the Right as being beyond the pale because they have fundamental disagreements with your classical liberal worldview. You’ll make thinly veiled references to nefarious individuals or political movements to try to insinuate that those who object to your own ideology are little more than a virus to be purged from the American Right. You’ve made it abundantly clear that such people are your political enemies and that you want nothing to do with them. Sometimes, I actually agree with you on some specific individual cases. But all too often I find that you go a step further and basically seek to gatekeep the Right in such a way that ensures classical liberalism is as far to the Right as someone is allowed to go. So when you then turn around and say it’s incumbent upon me to “convince” you to vote for my desired candidate, I think it’s only natural to ask what gives you the false impression that I’m interested in earning your vote in the first place. Why should I care about your vote when you don’t care about mine?
