I thought it was odd last year that SSA’s watchdog didn’t directly get at total phone wait times at SSA.
Turns out a draft had that info, but it was taken out, per @MerylKornfield, who writes that the OIG is trying to maintain a good relationship with the head of SSA.

In December, the Social Security IG released an audit of the agency’s phone metrics. Agency leaders celebrated that they had improved customer service. But a “total wait time” metric showing higher avg wait times (46 minutes to over two hours) was pulled from the final report
