I will collaborate with heads of state and government, encourage member states to improve cooperation, and help the AfCFTA Secretariat significantly reduce tariffs, eliminate non-tariff barriers, and boost transparency in trade negotiations. 2/2

Africa's share of global commerce remains at 5%, due primarily to tariffs and non-tariff barriers imposed on the continent and globally. To create a robust and unified African market, we must address these challenges both locally and through foreign trade partners and blocs.1/2

We spent a great afternoon hosting the Sakwa Awendo delegation from Migori at Kango Ka Jaramogi homestead in Bondo, Siaya. It was an incredible cultural exchange and an opportunity to reconnect with the larger Sakwa community. Ero Kamano uru!

My heartfelt condolences go out to the families, friends, and school fraternity who've lost loved ones in the devastating fire tragedy at Hillside Endarasha Academy. May God grant them all strength during these difficult moments, and a swift recovery for those injured.
