@mikulasflorek @KenneyNL @higgsfield_ai Most likely the AI found them online and just downloaded them. AFAIK 3D models made with AI either look like textured "blobs" or a bunch of basic shapes slapped together.

@KenneyNL @higgsfield_ai Oh, you are right. I missed the "...more" button. I wonder if the models are really output of the AI, since it's in their training data. That's why I don't touch AI assets. Or somebody just vibe-coded everything without understanding at all.

The current state of AI companies; they're aware they can't create game assets as good as ours so they just take them and then claim they were generated using their slop machines. A new low, every single day. @higgsfield_ai - any comment?
Kay 🎨@KayLousberg

No I didn't give them permission to pretend to have made my work.. AI companies being scumbags, what else is new? FYI even with CC0 licensing this isn't allowed. CC0 only governs usage, not authorship. You don't have to credit me but you can't pretend you made it yourself.. 😒

@ADHDForReal Literally not autism-coded in any way. This is just a mandatory part of growing up, dispelling the magic of childhood. In this modern world people are simply confronted much later with this "truth" apparently after having adopted equally ugly labels in the process..

@citizen2891 @amelia_tweetz I don't think you understand the scale of what you're talking about. It's like the bronze-age collapse but world-wide and oh yeah, we have nukes now. The worst is yet to come. Doom and gloom aside, change is fine, the rate of change we can tolerate has its limits though.

@Azmo74773922 @amelia_tweetz Singapore imports over 90% of their food and they’re doing fine, thank you. You will be fine too even if the farms around you can’t grow the food you will need in the future. Others will produce it and you can just buy from them

I genuinely don’t understand the endgame. If climate change destroys the planet, economies collapse, and the working class disappears, who are billionaires expecting to sell to? Money only has value because society works. If you destroy the system that creates your wealth… what exactly have you won? 😭

If you're someone who feels like there's "nothing to watch on YouTube anymore", I just made an hour-long video trying to explain why that's the case. Basically, it has become too punishing to post well-made and high-quality videos. youtube.com/watch?v=0s9tbd…

@citizen2891 @amelia_tweetz I live in arguably the most arable place in the world and in my lifetime I've seen it go from 4 seasons to 2, from wet summers to dry and I have yet to hit 40. Get the fuck out of here with your BS.

@amelia_tweetz Here are two things which are true at the same time: 1 - the climate IS changing 2 - even if the avg temps go up 2-3 degs, the planet will not burn and kill one billion people People will need to move and adjust, but they will not die by the millions

@MorkSamuel @ChaoticEwil @mrdoob Similarly to how programmers, artists and writers don't get paid for AI training, neither do gamedevs, (music) artists and movie studio's by pirates. Not saying its fair, one isn't technically a crime committed on scale by a select group of technocrats, and the other is piracy.

@mrdoob Meanwhile, in the real world; anyone and everyone who has AI in the workplace is forbidden from using it on real data. If you're wondering why you only see proof of concepts, hobby projects and other useless nonsense instead of real products its because we all know what JB knows.

@BocaBola_ Its kind of similar to how the add industry works with the facebook pixels and big-data gobbling up all of your activity like big brothers little henchmen. This whole thing is nothing but trouble for regular people trying to do regular people things online.

@BocaBola_ Honestly, I get the both sides. It's easy to generate a moodboard with AI, a starting point for an idea. But you can't be in the business and simply ignore how the sausage is being made. Artists, programmers, writers even photographers are all being screwed over.

If someone uses AI to generate a concept for someone to then fully execute (Art, Video game, etc) Do you personally still find that frusterating? I saw this debate recently cause an artist denied someone's commission when the client sent an AI reference. What are your thoughts?

@VictorTaelin Ai doesn't scale as well as you think so your utopia won't come to pass. With tensions rising globally there's gonna be a breaking point somewhere and when that happens all bets are off. Your line if thought isn't bad though and if cooler heads prevail some of that will happen.

I think these who fear "AI will take my jobs" ultimately fall to the following logical trap: "the value of my work might go down to zero (true), thus I'll not be able to afford the things that I could afford otherwise (false)". Obviously, if the value of everyone's work goes to 0, then so does the *cost* of everything. Models are getting better at everything, so, there's no realistic scenario where YOU stop being valuable yet you still need to pay the same to all the goods and services you consume. But that is somehow a hard conclusion to make. If I'd predict the future, this is how I think things will work out. First, AI will take nearly all jobs that can be done behind a computer. Period. Stop coping. I'm glad I don't need to measure my words. That IS happening. Fable is almost implementing Bend on its own, in many instances it feels more competent than myself, and I've hardly met a single human I'd attribute that title to. Accept reality. Second, once software and math becomes trivial and people get used to the fact they can conjure programs and proofs beyond human comprehension - once that becomes the new normal - science will turn its attention head to elsewhere. In particular, SF nerds will be pikachu-shocked to find out that solving math/swe doesn't automatically solve hunger, climate, violence, biology. So, these will become the next big thing in the frontier of science. Third, and this is where most are worried about - what happens to our jobs? This discussion will become more and more prevalent and some think UBI will be the solution. I don't think so. I think UBI will not be *needed* because the cost of everything will naturally go down to zero. I think this point is easy to visualize for things behind a screen. That utility app you pay a $20 / mo for? You will stop paying for it, because a local AI will rebuild the thing for $0.1, and someone will publish it for free. A 100% open App Store will probably emerge, and will be massively adopted because quality will be so high, and people don't want to pay for things they can get for free at higher quality. This is "auto-UBI" for software. We all can afford it now, not because the gov is sending us a $5k check every month, but because the cost of the thing is zero. If you accept that, then, it shouldn't be much harder to accept this will ALSO happen, to a large extent, to things in the real world. The food you eat, the water you drink, the car you ride. Real world goods cannot go down to literal zero because atoms aren't copiable, but their production will be so aggressively automated, each on their own way, that the practical result will be nearly the same. You'll walk into a store, grab stuff, and go home. You'll make a hand gesture, get into an auto driving car, and go wherever you want to. And if you think that's not going to happen, that's probably because you have this "but who pays for it?" on your mind. And that's the catch, nobody does. AI robots are producing all the stuff needed to sustain it in such an enormous abundance that there is basically no cost. "What prevents vandalism and abuse?" - Laws don't stop working, they get better too. This is so hard to visualize because we were born to live in a world where you must work to *survive*. This is so axiomatically ingrained in our brains we can't imagine another way. Your children will not live in this world. This is the future of humanity, and it will happen sooner than you expect. I'm not denying the transition won't be turbulent and I'm not invalidating these who are afraid. Some fields (swe for example) will be gone faster than others, and that IS a real concern. In particular, I think we should put a lot of pressure in ensuring this transition happens as smoothly as possible. But once it lands, humanity will be in a much better position than it is today. Your children will not work to live. They will just... live. And they'll look at work scales as view slavery today. Which is how it should be

Luna missed the perfect opportunity to point out that the entire UFO topic is part of the newest MKUltra-type program involving neuroweapons, classified intelligence, and human cognition. It would have saved me a lot of time and energy.

@Dr_Monitor Insanity would be to just ignore how AI is being trained, how big corpo not only slurps all data from everyone but makes a buck while doing so. It's a highly corrupt system that serves those willing to look the other way.. for now.

The Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 5 are confirmed to be running on the Creation Engine This means they will very likely both still require loading screens when entering Interiors. I think this is one of the biggest weaknesses of Bethesda games, it really does feel outdated…
