@fire_caste_tau @cendre_falke @RazorSharpShork The T’au don’t brainwash anyone in his books, the Ethereals do mind control other T’au though, which I hate. And I wouldn’t entirely trust the Xenology book since it’s an in universe book written by an inquisitor.

📯Hear ye, hear ye! Tales From the Tables is back with episode #61: Stage Fright! Our intrepid misadventurers continue their exploration of the first level of Undermountain, confronting the gothic horrors lurking within the Hall of Three Lords. Allegedly. ... I can't take credit for this hilarious encounter, I'm told it was probably @ChrisPerkinsDnD 's idea 😄 #dnd #dungeonsanddragons #forgottenrealms

@MarcusCVance Counter point about Men of Iron being a problem: the Leagues of Votann.

If the Imperium is using every resource at their disposal, surely they are making the most of every technological advancement available to them, right? Using the best of what they have, and also adapting the various technologies they find from other species, right?

@DarkTiger256 @MarcusCVance "good" is a luxury in a universe as hostile as what the imperium is dealing with. they have 1 of 2 choices; either use every resource and tactic at your disposal to try and ensure humanity has the best chance at survival, or pursue the moral highground at the risk of extinction.

@Dante45p @AzoreesFelic @shas_kais Definitely both bad, but we’re expected to be able to keep up with the big picture of the setting. “Erm have you seen ____?? That means every human man, woman, and child for eternity should become subservient pets to some alien species.” Is always going to be childish analysis.

Yes @MarcusCVance they're good because they are humans fighting to prevent the annihilation of the human race. So unless you're a fucking alien or a retarded nihilist, generally speaking you should be pro your own species survival. That and their enemies consist of giant sentient space mushrooms who exist only to wage war, giant bugs that want to devour all life in the galaxy, murdering space robot zombie skeletons that at minimum want to enslave humanity after annihilating most of it, LITERAL FUCKING DEMONS, and space elves that will turn you into a living couch for funzies. Hell the 'nicest' aliens still want to wipe out or subjugate humanity. The not sadistic space elves see humans as primitive monkeys to be expunged and the blue space weebs who practice eugenics. (Yes that is exactly what they do Kais, because they forbid inter-caste breeding to use as a form of control and to maintain genetic purity of said castes.)

No. Third-party games and material are not canon. Not even the guys making the video games know whether their games are considered canon or not by GW. GW tells them later whatever parts have been canonized. That's on top of the bit coming from a non-canon ending, and it being the speculation of the narrator. And I will add a ribbon on it. GW made the Dawn of War 4 devs relocate the planet to the galactic north, which means they retconned the T'au ever being there in the first place. Why are you clinging to a third-party material that's not canon in its own continuity when you have decades worth of GW lore saying that the Gue'vesa are thriving?

@fire_caste_tau @cendre_falke @RazorSharpShork The 4th Sphere is also a terrible example to use for how the T’au are, those are specifically T’au that got lost in the Warp with any gellar fields for an indeterminate amount of time. Most of the other T’au are horrified and heavily disapprove of how they treat aliens. 2/2

@fire_caste_tau @cendre_falke @RazorSharpShork Brainwashing I have yet to see evidence of, the sterilisation thing came from a non canon ending to a Dawn of War game and I have yet to see much evidence for reeducation camps but that is just about the most believable of your claims. 1/2

@cendre_falke @RazorSharpShork Pretty much yeah, they’re fully willing to commit genocide but only if they feel it’s necessary like with Orks, Nids, Drukhari and other aliens like those.

@BakedTurboFlash @MrAntiHero1 @ChronoLuminaire @MarcusCVance Phill Kelly leans heavily towards the Ethereals being evil and mind controlling other T’au though he doesn’t elaborate on how but some of the other writers don’t really lean into it, they just make them charismatic, intelligent and wise. 2/2

@BakedTurboFlash @MrAntiHero1 @ChronoLuminaire @MarcusCVance Uh no. There about two cases of admittedly heavily implied mind control for non T’au races to bring them INTO the T’au Empire but otherwise no, just simple diplomacy and decent governance. As for the regular T’au being mind controlled, that’s dependent upon the author. 1/2
