Yes, I've said this before. Yes, I fully acknowledge that some implants can't be so easily replicated. Yes, they kinda mistrust machines (while still readily using machines and even AI) Just seems easier.

@uraby949307 If your mom is acting like a stranger purely because you're not making 100k, then... yes. Like... buddy. Think about that for 5 seconds. Some of that could easily be on her, but you gotta introspect to see how much is you.

@MarcusCVance You're right, my mom and I have a very shallow relationship. Dumbass.

"The people you thought cared for you will suddenly act like strangers, simply because you aren't making 100k a year." Then don't be the type of person who only develops shallow relationships.
Uraby9@uraby949307

@MarcusCVance They're definitely being dramatic, but you don't really know loneliness until you're a man struggling to find his footing in society or find a career path. The people you thought cared for you will suddenly act like strangers, simply because you aren't making 100k a year.

@MrOvis_ Given current events, this is a super weird thing to say and you could easily delete it before more than 31 people see it.

When people say stuff like "this sword was historically optimized for X" It's important to know that usually just means it's, like, 5-10% better and swords not optimized can still do it.

Like most hot historical martial topics these days, the answer is somewhere in between. People wearing full armor could move around pretty darn well. But they needed to move differently than when unarmored—or even lightly armored. And it was not as easy.
Fake History Hunter@fakehistoryhunt

The best way to debunk that old myth that knights in armour could barely move is by simply demonstrating that it's nonsense. Everyone who went to a re-enactment/living history events and saw a demonstration like this will know it: youtu.be/b37U0cldZ-E?si…

"men are in fact sent off to war and shamed if they don't, why do you think that is?" It's 2026. I don't think many people will look down on you for not enlisting.
Orbital H2O@dee_darth

@MarcusCVance a) the "nice guy" trope isn't true just because the guys aren't truly nice b) there's almost nothing about romance or attraction that we do consciously c) men are in fact sent off to war and shamed if they don't, why do you think that is?

As someone who says "this wouldn't work in real life" for a living, I think they're replying specifically to the person who said "horse physics are so important to get right" Imagine if they said "dragon physics are so important to get right." It's wouldn't be surprising to say "dragons aren't real, dog"

@Inki_FairyTales @MarcusCVance I doubt a single man has gone to war to explicitly enhance the lives of a powerful elite (even if that is what occurs). They go to war to defend their country (the tribe), money (survival/status), adventure (stupidity), or because they are murderous psychopaths.

This should be as easy to figure out as using your fingers to solve 1+1 You can't form relationships with people if you don't form relationships with people.

@d_linkski I gotta start denying that things exist... Did you know that battleaxes don't exist? They never saw use on the battlefield and were only ever tools.

Most people don't look at you and care about genetics or the continuation of the species They wonder if you're nice.
Odes Radcliffe@OdesRadcliffe

@MarcusCVance It is nature. The disposable male. Women and children have more value for the continuation the species and so genetics includes that alongside self preservation. This is why men are sent to war and expected to sink with the boat and are shamed or feel shame if they don't.
