The Quran is the standard for Muslims because we believe it is God’s final preserved revelation, sent to correct corruption and contradictions in earlier scriptures.And Allah did not “become” Merciful after creation. Mercy is part of His eternal nature. Creation only became the recipients of that mercy, it did not create the attribute itself.

The analogy doesn’t fit. You don’t “treat” societies by removing a whole religion. That’s not a priority list, it’s collective blame. If the goal is a safer world, you target violent groups, funding, politics, and grievances, not 1.9 billion people and a faith they don’t use for violence.

Non-Muslims blame Islam for terrorism as if violence began with Muslims. Be honest: if Islam disappeared tomorrow, do you really think the world would suddenly become peaceful?

@ChristandGuitar As A Catholic, even if we steelman the Protestant position (and many do), it tends to end the same way because the epistemology doesnt cut their way. Doesn't mean we should not love the Protestants and pray for them. They still are our brothers and sisters.

I just finished watching this "debate." My observations: - David Wood came to have a conversation about morality and orthobros aligning with Muslims against Christians. - Andrew Wilson came to win a debate. Honestly, it was a fairly fruitless discussion in terms of the topics, but it was worth seeing how these guys handled 3 hours of going back and forth. David came out looking way better, standing firm on what we know are foundational Christian truths. Andrew seemed to not be able to understand basic Christian beliefs, which was something David hammered on in the middle section. For instance, he appeared to think that "non-denominational" somehow means "I'm hiding what I actually believe." It was just really weird. Maybe he was just playing ignorant? Has Andrew ever given a steelman definition of a Protestant's view of salvation?

And yet, you bilk people who leave. Those who stay, are treated poorly.
