@SandyofCthulhu I'm always on the hunt for legit spaghetti eis here in the states. I miss it so bad

For those not aware, spaghetti eis (spaghetti ice cream) is a thing on Germany. It’s actually really fun. They squeeze soft vanilla through a potato ricer so it looks like noodles. They top it with strawberry sauce for the “marinara”, and grated white chocolate for “parmesan”. So it looks like spaghetti but tastes like a strawberry sundae. Kids adore it. Bonus: I included pics of a spaghetti eis flavored chocolate bar. I think it would actually be a big hit in America. Want some?

@J0hnADouglas Wow!! Awesome!! Well I prefer Sci fi but lucky for me Dan Simmons wrote a duology of Trojan War inspired or referencing books called Illium Olympos

If you want some more Troy/Greek related fantasy, I highly recommend Sara Douglass’ historical fantasy Hades Daughter, book one of the Troy Game. It’s some of the best historical fantasy I’ve ever read. Brutally violent action, unapologetically dark, full of old world gods, fables, and mysticism. If that’s your taste, that is. Not for the squeamish, that’s for sure.

@J0hnADouglas I need to go back and reread this series. There are scenes that still stick in my head to this day.

@SandyofCthulhu I spent part of my childhood in Germany and we would often visit my German Aunt for days at a time. I really enjoyed those breakfasts, especially the juice.

German breakfast (Fruhstuck)! It consists mainlybof cold cuts, jam, cheese, and bread. Now bear in mind my experience is mostly hotel breakfasts, which may differ. However when I’ve eaten at a German home, it was similar- usually they went to a bakery for bread & rolls, then got their cold cuts & cheese. Usually if they have anything hot it’s soft boiled eggs. My wife loves it (not the eggs - the breakfast). Have you tried it?

My recently finished character for the Archthrones modding group. Halfway through, I made the switch to Blender. XD

I'm genuinely sad I was only 8 years old in 2010 I completely missed the golden age of anime cons and there is no going back...

@GinoKolling While that's all I'd love to do, I can see the writing on the wall. And that's why I'm trying to show off all the other stuff I can do too. Blendshapes/FACS, concepting, basic rigging. Hell, I'm even trying to make my own small games.

He's right. If as a character artist all you can bring to the table is a highpoly - lowpoly - textures workflow it's unfortunately not enough at this point. If you're curious and learn beyond the imaginary boundaries set by AAA you'll be better to work with regardless.

These were my dad’s favorite birds. I lost him a couple years ago and I’ve found it helpful to imagine that his spirit lives on in these birds. I see them often along the bike trails that I frequent and I always say a little hello as I pass.  RED WINGED BLACKBIRD, Acrylic

It's rough going, but I'm pushing.

Blender is feeling better and better. But the unwrapping/UVs are still the worst. Even with add-ons. I'm trying out Rizom and it's blender bridge, and I'm loving the way it feels. Coming from Maya, it's controls give me what I want.

@lydiakauppi ...all that wood and the exposed beams in the ceiling... If I could own a home with just a whisper of these vibes, I'd be happy.

@bryan_johnson Is this the western version of the chinese eye cleaning?

Today my eyelids will be poked 160 times with a 4mm probe. It clears my meibomian glands, which oil the tear film. Mine got jammed up, which causes dry eyes and over time the glands waste away if not cared for. Longer write up on this soon.
