Cry about it if you want, but weighted balls / heavier than 5oz plyos are not the problem. My apologies if the data doesn't fit your narrative 🤷‍♂️

The year-long research collection effort with @DrivelineYouth is nearing an end (maybe 2-3 more coming in at the last minute next week!). We're preparing our preprint for @SportRxiv and the @DrivelineBB blog! Subject: Joint Torque Differences w/ Weighted Balls, Youth Pitchers

Not your ordinary lineup card exchange, tonight ahead of their game against Utah, @KUBaseball Head Coach Dan Fitzgerald was joined by his son, Max. The Jayhawks are celebrating their 4th annual autism awareness night at Hoglund this evening.

This is a big lesson for young pitchers!! Just because a pitch “worked in the lab” doesn’t mean it’s ready for the game. Bullpens are controlled. Games are chaotic. Execution under stress exposes everything... command, shape, conviction. Your stuff can look better in bullpens… or worse. But it will probably be different. Don’t lose what makes you great. Bravo to Crochet & the Red Sox for keeping the main thing the main thing... ..makes it a little easier to make that decision when you've got stuff like this
Gordo@BOSSportsGordo

Garrett Crochet says he’s ditching the splitter he worked on this spring: “In spring, toying with the splitter, today it was like, ‘Hey, I’m banging the splitter for the year.’ I’ll just go back to the changeup I was throwing last year.” (via @jcmccaffrey)

Independent ball is the JUCO of pro ball.. It’s not affiliated (MLB) just like JUCO is not apart of the NCAA…most people don’t understand how good you have to be to play it…it’s pro ball, just like JUCO is college baseball.

I have a 8 min video releasing soon about how “separation” is overrated and it’s just torso speed that matters. Nice to see my intuition validated. (Now does separation lead to torso speed is another question. It sure will if you only look at professionals and not noobs trying to achieve separation by itself)

Trying to throw harder often makes pitchers throw slower. The reason comes down to biomechanics and neuromuscular timing. Mozart → Mozart → Metallica Let’s break down the science 🧵 @TreadHQ

If you take into account the principle that whenever a piece fully stops, it can send energy up the chain the most efficiently the pelvic deceleration timing matters. In a recent breakdown with a friend of mine, I noticed that may be cutting the a amount of time he has to apply force on the ball in half. Hence why assessments matter. If somebody has a ton of lead hip IR, odds are it’ll take more time for them to reach the point where their pelvis fully stops rotating. And with that being said, striding across your body shortens that distance and wouldn’t be inherently bad for that same individual.

If you’re serious about becoming the best player you can be, weekly private lessons are NOT the way to go about it. Private lessons are: - Expensive - Inefficient - Generic - One-dimensional
