Elon Musk becoming the world's first trillionaire should terrify anyone who believes in democracy. Trillionaires should not exist, and allowing an unelected individual to amass this much power is a direct betrayal of humanity. The lack of regulation in the United States has created a monster that threatens global stability. Musk now controls the digital town square, vital military and state contracts, and the financial means to heavily sway democratic elections. This level of hegemony is unsafe in any hands. Even if Musk were a completely normal, wise individual rather than an unstable, erratic figure who flirts with white supremacy, it would still be an unnatural and dangerous distortion of human society. The human cost of this broken system is measured in lives. His political crusades to strip funding from organizations like USAID have directly taken life-saving resources away from the world's poorest populations, causing thousands of avoidable deaths. Musk's legacy will be defined by the destruction his unchecked ego has caused. The West is running out of time to discover new mechanisms to dismantle this extreme issue
