@XVanFleet @SenSanders Started his business in a garage… how much government revenue has Amazon created through income, property, sales, capital gains, entertainment, etc taxes over the life of the firm? The words should be “thank” and “you”.

@SenSanders What’s unacceptable is that someone like you who has created no jobs and contributed nothing to the economy has made a fortune by promoting class war!

The reality of American life today: Jeff Bezos, worth $290 billion, spent: $10 million on the Met Gala $120 million on a penthouse $500 million on a yacht Meanwhile, he‘s planning to throw 600,000 Amazon workers out on the streets and replace them with robots. Unacceptable.

No one is asking for this. It will make a good thing worse. So of course, it would be fitting that the NCAA wants to expand the tournament. Our decline era continues: nytimes.com/athletic/72405…

When this judge put suspected cop killer Alphonso Tally on an ankle monitor in December, he said he thought Talley’s previous violent crimes were the result of an underdeveloped brain… even though some of those crimes were only 8 months old. cwbchicago.com/2026/04/judge-…

Eileen O'Neill Burke today after a Chicago cop was killed by a man on EM with four pending violent felonies: "Electronic Monitoring system is broken. It does not work. It does not keep people safe." SA O'Neill Burke gets it. This is why crime has dropped 22 percent in Chicago. Until the EM program is dismantled and progressives are removed from the bench, residents of Chicago will continue to be at the mercy of violent criminals.

Everyone knew ncaa tournament expansion to 76 was inevitable. Almost nobody wants it. Those trying to argue its merits are gaslighting you. I’ve written it many times — it’s a lousy development that contributes to the erosion of what makes college sports great.

Clubs should be vetting new members more than they are. High level clubs do a better job than mids. Becomes an issue when clubs just start taking anyone with a pulse and a check. It’s destroying culture and the very basis that’s allowed a club to survive multiple decades. Prospective members unfortunately need education to better understand club expectations and what makes a club a “club”. Particularly those clubs that have been around for a century or more or have an investment level initiation. There should be a strict process by the club that at minimum educates new members on: - Base knowledge of club history - Clearly defining the culture and “vibe” expected at the club. - Black and white rules and repercussions for violating culture and rules (Attire, phone policy, hats, etc) - A 10 year or more restriction on new members participating in club decisions. - Documented guidelines/rules provided to all guests and host members. - Understanding long term capital plans built around the club’s culture. - Expectation of course care (i.e..always fixing 2 ball marks, sand/divot repair, bunkers raking, range use, etc). - Understanding basic golf IQ…it’s a thing and few people have it. Looking forward to the pretentious, stuffy, and elitist comments. That clubs need to evolve with the times. That response validates exactly why clubs need this process.

Anyone got a good recommendation for a new golf bag? Have had lightweight Ping stand bags for years but thinking of going to a more traditional, simpler look in my old age.

Nelly and Patty T is an awesome final group today at the Chevron, but in the group behind her is the player I'm rooting for. Because the money isn't good enough on the women's tour outside of the top 50 players or so, you don't see many grinders in the women's game. Ryann O'Toole is one of them. In a game when women turn pro in their teens and even the best of the best often retire early, O'Toole is 39. Ancient by LPGA standards. For some context, the average age of the rest of the top ten is just 26. She turned pro 17 years ago, and didn't get her first win until 2021 in her 228th start. She is now over 300 career starts. O'Toole has played really solid for years, often keeping her card but never finishing better than 32nd in points. A solid career that if she was on the PGA Tour would mean her would be in the 10's of millions. She has made 4.4 million in her career, spread across 17 years. Take away travel, caddie, agent, and other fees and you see why grinders aren't a thing on the LPGA. Last season for the first time in years she didn't play well, finished 137th in points and lost her full card. At 39, I'd guess there was some thoughts that her outstanding career was over or nearing its end. But O'Toole didn't think that, she went to Q-school, shot a final round 65, the second best round of the day and finished 3rd, easily getting her card back. So far this year she has made 3 of 3 cuts, and now tees off in 3rd place. Unless Nelly stumbles badly, a win is likely out of the question, but a solid weekend will go a long way to locking up O'Toole's card for next season. It would be her 18th season and the grind would continue. Here is to a couple of good ones.

NCAA President Charlie Baker is pushing for the proposal to allow DI athletes five years of eligibility to be voted on as emergency legislation in May, with implementation the next month. Baker is also in support of DI having a legal tampering window like we see in the NFL.

Later this year, college sports could be ready to vote on the biggest change to eligibility since 1972. Five in five isn’t just a concept limited to a committee room anymore, it’s something the NCAA president is actively pushing hard for. si.com/college-footba…

I won't out the course but here is aspect of Country Clubs that I think needs to change. I had a player playing in the US Amateur. We hired the clubs best caddie to help us navigate the course in practice rounds. Guy was great. With our USGA credentials on first day at the club we asked him after the round if he would like to join us for lunch. He couldn't, he wasn't allowed in the clubhouse and we were able to go in and out freely. I hate this about higher end golf. Good caddies are assets and should be treated as such. Please retweet this if you agree.

@illinoispolicy This isn’t complicated; it’s a matter of will. Chicago has the best transit infrastructure in the country. Imagine a world when passengers enjoyed a safe, clean ride at any time of day in any part of the city. It would be an economic boon for transit and the city. It is possible.

ICYMI Chicago’s transit system is trapped in a doom loop. Ridership has stalled out at 74% of pre-pandemic levels, as commuters flee for reasons involving safety concerns, revenue drops, and a decline in the quality of service. Here's how other cities solved the problem: >Washington D.C. installed 5-foot-tall barrier gates at stations and fare evasion dropped by a massive 82%. >San Francisco installed similar gates and saw an immediate drop in required maintenance. Studies show that keeping evaders out deters potential violent offenders, making the whole system safer. Chicago has the money to fix this right now. illinoispolicy.org/combating-fare…
